I have silicon implants put underneath the muscle. Ive been noticing that the temp of my breast are colder then the temp of my body ? Why is this ? & is this common ? Thank you Nika
Answer: Boob temp different from body temp? As mentioned previously, how long ago was your surgery performed? There should be no discernible difference in temperature unless you have an ongoing inflammatory, cellulitiic process (possibel infection). This is usually accompanied by redness of the skin. You should see your plastci surgeon. Good luck

Answer: Breasts with implants lower temperature than body Experiencing lower breast temperature after implants usually is described after swimming with saline breast implants. However it can also occur with silicone breast implants Usually there is no reason for concern. However if your skin temperature is lower and there is any blanching or whitening of the skin you should see your plastic surgeon for an examination.

Answer: Breast temperature difference after augemtation If your implants were put in recently, I recommend that you see your plastic surgeon as soon as possible to make sure that there is not too much pressure on the skin causing difficulties with blood flow to the skin. However, if the implants were put in a while ago, this would be a much less concerning issue.Best Regards,Dr. Stutman

Answer: Temperature I have occasionally had patients mention this subjective feeling before. I have not been able to document any noticeable actual change of the skin temperature on its surface. Either way, it is of no consequence.

Answer: Patients occasionally notice a change in breast temperature I have heard this reported occasionally over the past twenty years, but there seems to be no rhyme nor reason to it. Most often patients report that their breasts feel colder. It has been reported with saline and silicone implants, both over and under the muscle. I have been able to document a difference in temperature only occasionally. The good new is that it doesn't seem to be of any clinical importance. That is to say, it has never appeared to cause any problems for my patients.
