I'm concerned that my implants are taking much longer than expected to drop. I had surgery mid december, and I have seem a minimal drop. I still can't wear a regular bra because my breasts are riding too high and don't fit into the cups. In fact, I don't even know what bra size I am because of this. I'm 5'0, 24 yrs old, 320 cc round, moderate, sientra implants. I was a 32AA prior to surgery. Will I need revision surgery? I also have a short inflammatory fold. Advice/thoughts?
Answer: Implants riding too high six months after surgery will require surgical revision If your implants are still too high it is almost impossible they would correct now. It is possible that you have a capsular contracture. In any event reoperation may be necessary to solve the problem.

Answer: High implants after 6 months If your implants are going to settle, you should have seen some notable change in their position by now. It is quite possible that you will need another procedure to improve the positioning based on your description of things. If you have textured implants, the chance of them settling are lower than if you have smooth implants.

Answer: 6 months post surgery and still "riding high." Should I be concerned that implants haven't dropped yet? Hi. Six months following a breast augmentation, you should definitely have seen some changes. You need to find out if your implants were of the smooth variety or textured. Textured implant adhere to the surface of the tissues and will not drop. If you had smooth, you should have seen a change. I usually advise patints that it may take 3-6 months for the implants to drop into place. If at 6 months my patinet still has a high riding implant, they , more than likey, require a revision with a capsulotomy to bring them into correct position.Speak with your surgeon. Good luck

Answer: 6 months post surgery and still "riding high." Should I be concerned that implants haven't dropped yet? I am sorry to hear about your concerns after breast augmentation surgery. As you can imagine, online consultants will not be able to give you definitive advise; physical examination is invaluable when it comes to determining whether breast implants have reached their “final position”, whether there is more space for the breast implant to settle into over the course of the next several months, whether you have experienced a complication ( such as encapsulation) that has prevented breast implants settling. It is likely, that your plastic surgeon will be your best resource. If, in doubt, it may be in your best interests to allow for several more months to pass before making a final decision about the need for revisionary breast surgery. Assuming there is no encapsulation present, revisionary breast surgeon will likely involve capsulotomy ( adjustment of the breast implant capsules along the lower pole of the breasts). Best wishes.

Answer: Breast implants should drop into a normal position by 6 months Usually by 6 months the breast implants have dropped into their final position beneath the breast and areola nipple complex. Please see your plastic surgeon for an examination and diagnosis. Hopefully, if the implants have been high all along you simply need a minor procedure to drop the implant further. However if the breast implants are extremely hard, much harder than they were in the beginning you could have a capsular contraction. For more and formation on breast implant revision surgery please read the following link:
