30% glycolic acid is very mild (I don't oerform anything less than 70% in my practice). But it may have exfoliated your skin somewhat, so that the horny layer will not be able to protect you as well from the harmful effects of sunlight. This effect can persist for 6 weeks or more.For my patients who don't wish to wear sunscreen on a daily basis, or have a vitamin D deficiency, I will recommend a potent and properly formulated vitamin C cream(L-ascorbic a id, 10% or more, ph 3.2 or less) or potent and properly formulated green tea cream (90% polyphenols with reservatrol), which, when applied every two to four days, will actually mitigate all of the harmful effects of UV light without blocking vitamin D production. If one of these are applied, sunscreen while commuting or on short walks outside is not necessary.
