Is it possible to reduce nostril shape and size without external stitches? (Photos)

Question

im pretty sure i will need open rhinoplasty to correct deviated septum, crooked , bulbous tip, dorsal bump ans nasal projection my nostrils are currently very long and overly visable is there any was to achiive smaller more proportional nostrils without external stitches on the outside of my nostrils 2 consults thus far did not believe it would be possible to achieve without external stitches to sides of nostrils

It is possible to change the shape of the nostrils without using external stitches but only a small change. The cuts and stitches on the inside cannot modify the shape in a predictable manner. That is the issue with cinching suture as well.

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, you may benefit from a rhinoplasty. A surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. Fascial grafts may also be used to help improve tip refinement. Make sure you are going to a surgeon with hundreds of long-term before and after pictures on their website with standardized lighting and standardized backgrounds. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

It is completely normal to feel concerned when you notice a "bump" or a pulling sensation during the first two weeks after a facelift, but this is almost always a result of the internal healing process rather than a permanent contour issue. In a deep plane or SMAS facelift, the underlying tissues are significantly repositioned and secured with internal sutures; at 12 days post-op, you are experiencing the peak of internal inflammation and "knots" of healing tissue where those deep structures are anchored. What feels like a hard ridge or a pull is simply your body’s natural response to surgical trauma as the lymphatic system works to clear swelling and the internal tissues begin to soften. These sensations typically peak around the second week and then gradually diminish over the next few months as the internal scar tissue matures and the final "drape" of the skin settles into its new, rejuvenated position.
