What happens if a columellar strut is removed?

The most common reason for removing a columella strut graft is malposition. In fact, they may be removed and replaced in a more favorable position. These grafts are the size of a match stick and are used to add structural support to somebody's nasal tip during surgery. The feasibility of removing your graft would require an examination. Hello and thank you for your question. I would not recommend simply removing your columellar struy graft, as that is likely not what is causing your nose to be over rotated and over-projected. Instead, what you may benefit from it is a Revision with extended spreader graft placement to perform derotation of the tip and nasal tip deprojection performed at the same time,. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.
