Thank you for sharing your question about Botox. You appear to be an excellent candidate for neuromodulator injections (Botox, Xeomin, or Dysport) to the glabella (11’s), forehead, and crow’s feet (smile lines around eyes). These areas together will significantly soften your fine lines and wrinkles. For your glabella alone, you will likely need at least 20 units of Botox to see a noticeable difference. With regards to the deeper lines that are visible at rest, you may benefit from small amount of dermal filler to make lines appear flush with the surrounding skin. You also appear to be a great candidate for a hybrid fractional resurfacing laser called the Halo. This laser uses ablative and non-ablative technology to resurface the skin and improve its overall texture, tone and quality. This treatment is an excellent way to stimulate collagen, reduce pore size, and even reverse sun damage. For more information about these treatments, please schedule a consultation with a board-certified specialist experienced in these procedures.
Hello and thank you for your question. Thebest advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. Botox should work well for you based on your photograph. For the glabella area, I would recommend 20U. I recommendthat you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon whocan evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Thank you for your question. In order to fully correct your deep line in the glabella area I would start with 20 units of Botox. I would then suggest waiting 2 weeks for the full effect and if needed add a filler to the area to fully correct the deep lines. I recommend having a consultation with an expert injector for an evaluation and to determine the best treatment plan for you. Best of Luck!
Dear audrey1958:Looking at your photo, Botox dosage for treatment of your frown lines ranges between 20-30 units. Best wishes.
Thank you for your question and for submitting your photo. It's difficult to make exact recommendations without an in-person consultation, to assess your muscle strength and see your face with movement and animation. Generally speaking, I use doses between 16-24 units for most patients between the eyebrows to address the 11 lines - looking at your photos, you would likely benefit from a dose of at least 20 units to start. Botox is most effective for treating expression lines that are present with frowning/movement - deeper, etched lines that are present at rest often require a combination of Botox, laser skin resurfacing, and dermal fillers. I would recommend scheduling a consultation with a cosmetic dermatologist to discuss your concerns and to determine the best treatment plan for you. Best of luck!
The standard units for the glabellar complex is 20 units divided into 5 injection sites. Fillers are very difficult to use in this area. be sure you see a qualified and experienced dermatologist
Thank you for the question and photo. I would recommend 30 units for the glabella (11's),After a week to 10 days if you don't feel the lines are minimized enough, I would then have filler added. The combination of the two gives a nice result.
Thank you for your question audrey. Botox is a purified protein used to address wrinkles associated withfacial expression. The pivotal studies demonstrated that with 20 units of Botox in the glabella, most patients saw peak results at 14 days and enjoyed their results for 3-4 months. For this reason I recommend that my patients start with 20 units in this area. If patients have wrinkles at rest, they will not necessarily go away completely with Botox, but they are usually improved. I do not use fillers in this area due to the risk of blindness. Instead I recommend that may patients have fractional CO2 laser resurfacing. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!
Generally about 20 units of Botox is needed for frown muscles such as yours.Additional small amounts of Juvederm can help fill the grooves.
I usually use between 15-20 units. You also have deep grooves which may not flatten with botox alone. You might need a little bit of filler.
Thank you for the question, and yes you can be treated with botulinum toxin (Botox) for softening neck platysmal bands. The softening, as with all Botox treatments, is more noticeable upon contraction of the neck muscles with expression, but you appear to be a good candidate for Botox...
There are no studies that show a negative impact with botox treatments and breastfeeding. However, it is left up to you. I recommend following up with your Doctor and discussing your concerns. Best, Dr. Emer
I have never had anyone state that they actually felt their jaw muscles were weaker after Botox. I hope the issue has resolved itself, but if not make sure to see a Board-certified physician if this issue continues. *Opinions stated here are only opinions. They are not based on a...
