Hello, I would like to know if anyone here has given botox injections to breastfeeding moms? I recently got botox injections under my eyes and forehead, but I am not worried that this will affect my toddler who is now two. I am still breastfeeding my toddle and I am worried that it may enter my milk. Can someone please provide me with peace of mind.
Answer: Botox/Xeomin/Dysport and Breastfeeding There are no studies that show a negative impact with botox treatments and breastfeeding. However, it is left up to you. I recommend following up with your Doctor and discussing your concerns. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Yes, this is not recommended. Don't get botox while breastfeeding. The risk is likely to be small. However, we simply have no research on this. For this reason, don't do this again.

Answer: Botox and breastfeeding toddler? Hello and thanks. Botox and breastfeeding has not been studied for safety and long-term effects on children. You should have discussed this issue with your injector before getting injected. Please talk to your physician about when you can resume breastfeeding.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO :)

Answer: Wait until you finish breastfeeding before starting BOTOX® injections to be safe. Thank you for your question. BOTOX® Cosmetic is comprised of botulinum toxin, which has been used in medical treatments for decades. The amount of botulinum toxin used in BOTOX® injections is very small compared to the amounts used in many medical treatments; however, there is currently no research proving that the product does not enter the breast milk or affect a nursing child. To be on the safe side, I recommend waiting until you are finished breastfeeding before starting BOTOX® treatments. Good luck!

Answer: Botox while breast feeding Thank you for your question. There have been no studies done on how Botox will or will not affect pregnancy or a developing fetus. This is why most injectors recommend waiting until after pregnancy and breastfeeding to get Botox. Best of Luck!
