Emsculpt: are there any side effects and what does it cost?

The EMSculpt procedure is FDA Cleared, safe, and effective. There is some soreness after the treatment, similar to an intense workout, but no pain. We recommend a series of 4 treatments over 2 weeks. Thank you for your question.  There have been no side-effects associated with EMSCULPT to date. Most people in my practice feel as though they've had a good work out the following day, but nothing too drastic.  The costs will vary according to the region you are in. Since EMSCULPT is new to our practice, we are offering introductory pricing of $750 per treatment through October, but most offices are charging $1,000 per treatment.  EMSCULPT is available in packages of 4 for optimal results. So far, our patients have been extremely happy with the treatment as it is the only non-surgical device that builds muscle and burns fat simultaneously.  I hope this helps.

Hi Giselle,Our practice was fortunate to be one of the first practices in the world to use Emsculpt.  Our patients and I have been very happy with Emsculpt.  Before incorporating any technology or treatment in my practice it must be proven to be both safe and effective. Fortunately there have been no complications reported in the Emsculpt studies over the past year, and no clinical adverse events reported.  It is important that your treating physician takes a complete medical history to insure that you are a candidate for Emsculpt.  There are a few absolute contraindications to the treatment such as metal implants, pacemakers, and poor health to name a few.  As long as you do not have any contraindications, Emsculpt is extremely safe and effective.  As with any treatment, choose your treating physician most carefully.  The cost ranges from $3000 to $4000 for either an abdominal or buttocks treatment.  In our practice we will be offering better prices for patients who wish to maintain their results over time.  We also work with our patients if they wish to pay per treatment it is about $750-$1000 depending on the treatment. Depending on the physician and practice, additional maintenance sessions of Emsculpt may be given at a discounted cost.  Good luck and be well.Dr. PEncino, CA

Emsculpt is an extremely safe treatment but a medical history and examination should always be performed to access whether you would be a good candidate. Patients with metal implants or hernias, for example, are not candidates for this procedure. Assuming you have no contra indications you may experience muscle soreness the day after your treatment very similar to a strenuous workout. The average cost of Emsculpt is $4,000 for a series of four treatments over a two week period.

Hi giselelariviere,Thanks for your questions. We are located in downtown Montreal and are the first Emsculpt clinic in Montreal. Honestly, after close to 100 Emsculpt sessions we have not experienced any side effects. Some patients (probably 10-15%) feel somewhat sore post treatment a though they have worked out but the majority report nothing negative. Thank you for your question!  The company found that patients achieved optimal results after four treatments.  Ideally Emsculpt sessions are performed twice per week, for two weeks, for a total of four sessions.  The pricing is typically $1,000 per session.  Emsculpt does not have any known reported adverse effects. Just like with a typical workout, the potential side effect after treatment may be temporary muscle soreness in the area treated.  Many of our patients report feeling hungry or tired after the treatment session – almost as if he or she had performed an intense workout.

We have not seen any side effects other than soreness.  Many patients report only minimal soreness whereas others report greater soreness.  We feel the athletic patients notice greater soreness afterwards, certainly in a good way, as one would expect after a great workout.  We have had patients tell us their back pain has improved and that they feel stronger.  A few male patients have noticed an improved in ED as a side benefit of their Emsculpt treatment.  A patient must not have any contraindications, of course, to having Emsculpt, which can include any metal implant near treatment site, cardiac issues, pacemaker/defibrillators, history of seizures, pregnancy or breastfeeding, hernias or recent surgeries to the treatment area to name a few.  As for cost, the price is generally anywhere from $750-$1000 per treatment depending on the package purchased.
