Cheeks are sagging after jaw surgery and missing teeth. What is the best solution? Is facelift or botox an option? (Photos)

What is not corrected by this can be improved with hyaluronic acid fillers.  They will last over a year and can be easily adjusted if there is ever a problem.  That can't be said with the "permanent fillers" and grafted fat.

Hello.  Thank you for your question.  Your pictures provide only a limited view of the face.  It would be more helpful to have additional views, including oblique and lateral views from each side, to allow a more comprehensive assessment of your concerns.  However, based on the views provided, it appears that you have significant midface volume loss that is allowing drooping of the skin and soft tissues causing prominent nasolabial folds.  Options for volume restoration include dermal/soft tissue fillers, fat transfer, or cheek implant.  Due to the degree of volume loss, I think cheek implants would likely provide the best long-term result for you.  I would recommend that you seek a consultation with a board-certified Facial Plastic Surgeon and allow them to assess your individual anatomy, concerns, and goals, in order to determine the best treatment plan for you.  I wish you the best in achieving your aesthetic goals.

The appearance of your cheeks may be caused by one of two things. The first would be normal aging and loss of volume in your face. If you did not notice the skin laxity immediately after the swelling from your jaw surgery improved then that is likely the cause. Otherwise, the skin and soft tissue of her cheeks may not have been resuspended after it was lifted up to get exposure to move your upper jaw forward.

Either way, you have several options for your face that all entail adding volume back into your face. The easiest would be to use hyaluronic acid fillers, but they would have to be done in such a way to not make your face look feminine. A second option would be to do fat injections in your face, and the third would involve placing silicone implants in your cheeks. The second two are permanent solutions, but your may want to try fillers first to see if you like it.

Lastly, you will want to take really good care of your skin. Wear a sunscreen every day and use a retinol at night to keep your skin smooth and tight. At this point, you should not need a facelift.

While I certainly understand your fear of getting an implant after everything you've been through, you need to have it done for the structural support before considering any kind of cosmetic work. Then, schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area to be assessed in person and discuss options. Botox isn't the right procedure, but you could definitely benefit from some filler. I always think it best to start with the least invasive option especially given your youth.Kindly,Kouros Azar

I don't think this is a result of jaw surgery and agree that long lasting fillers are a good option or a fat transfer. Minimal scars and fairly long lasting results. I think you are a bit young for surgical correction
