I had lipo done on Jan 18 by a great surgeon in Mexico, but I live in Michigan and can’t get lost op care :( . I did lymphatic & ultrasound massages or 3wks.I had a pretty big fluid pocket on my lower back and it went away, But now I am left with dimpling. I also have a bulge on my stomach where I was told it could be my faja line or left over fat. On my waist I have more of a curve on one side and the other side seems very hard and almost unable to have that curve.
Answer: Post-Liposuction After Care -- Compression, Lymphatic Massage, Hyperbaric Oxygen, Radiofrequency (Venus Legacy, Exilis, Forma) Hi Sandra. Swelling post-lipo can persist for months, so it's important to be on the right after care protocols. I have my patients wear compression for 3 to 6 weeks straight then overnight for 3-6 months after their procedure. I suggest adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with compression to help decrease swelling (my liposculpture patients receive lymphatic massage treatments every day for a week following their procedure; twice per week for the following month; and then once per week until healing is complete). To improve your final results, I also recommend adding Vanquish for further fat removal; truSculpt iD, Exilis, Forma, and Venus Legacy for additional skin tightening; and Cellutone / ZWave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. It will take 6 to 12 months to see the final outcome. Ultimately, if you are unhappy with your results, you can always get a revision procedure to address any dimples, indentations and irregularities. You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine the best course of action. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Uneven after liposuction Dear Sandra929, I would have to examine you but it appears that this is a contour irregularity after liposuction. This happens often when areas the undergo liposuction are not feathered appropriately. The good news is that it can be fixed and I have done so with good results before. The revision can often be done under local as well. While there is always a chance for contour irregularities with liposuction, someone who takes their time and uses the appropriate sized cannulas should give you a superb result.I have all my patients wear compression garments and I use multiple sized cannulas to feather out the result. Answer: Liposuction Results Dear Sandra929,I am sorry to see that you have some contour irregularities and asymmetry after your liposuction. At 4 months, you will continue to recover but in my experience it is unlikely those areas will resolve. Massage and US will help, but if the area was unevenly or over-aggressively contoured the dimples will probably persist. Once formed, these depression and dimples are difficult to correct, although I have had some success with fat grafting. Although there are many qualified surgeons overseas, the lack of consistent follow-up is a repeated theme that I have seen lead to complications. Good luck,Nirmal R. Answer: Dimpling after liposuction I there and thanks for your question and photos. As the other surgeons mentioned, you are still very early in your recovery. However, there does appear to be some unevenness of your abdomen/scar tissue. This is common in the early stages of liposuction and can be resolved with massage. I recommend massaging the area a few times a day to break up any scar tissue and smooth out any dimpling. I also suggest regular follow ups with your surgeon to ensure adequate healing. Best of luck and hope this helps!
