Hello! Thank you for your question! The amount of fat removed will vary amongst all patients. It will differ in your body habitus as well as how much fat there is in that specific area, not on the concrete amount value. Your surgeon should have made the clinical decision on the result on the table during the procedure. It will take several months for your final result will be seen. Best wishes!
Dear chasingthatbody, the amount of removed fat will depend on the area liposuctioned and pre-surgery shape. Most patients require 6 months in order to see the final results of liposuction. Until then, usually there is some amount of swelling. I suggest you to follow your surgeon's recommendations. The amount of fat liposuctioned varies with the patient. This will depend upon your preoperative fatty content of the arms and the amount of fat the surgeon can remove. You will have to wait for the final outcome to determine if you are pleased with the amount of fat removed. Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question and provided information as well. The average amount of fat removed varies entirely from each patient. l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know.Good luck :)
Thank you so much for submitting your question. It is challenging to answer this question without seeing your photographs. The amount of lipoaspirate can vary based on a patients size and amount of fat. You cannot make a judgement typically on whether or not one will see results just based on a value of fat aspirated without taking into account other factors. I suspect your surgeon made the clinical decision of the amount of fat to extract based on clinical judgement. Best of luck.
No one can tell you what it's a sufficient amount of fat to remove based on the information you have given. Yesterday I did liposuction on three patients arms so a total of six arms were treated. The first two patients had 400 mL of fat removed from each arm the third patient had 1000 mL of fat removed her arm. Based on my recollection the last patient weighed 215 pounds and was about 5 foot four. The first two patients were perhaps if you inches taller and weighed about 140 pounds 150 mL sounds conservative but each doctor has their own way of performing these procedures. The worst scenario is being over treated. You can always have more fat removed but once someone has been over treated they will be disfigured for life. In the last 10 years I performed over 6000 liposuction procedures. It's taken me this long to feel comfortable removing these volumes consistently without leaving people disfigured. Inexperienced doctors should not be attempting to maximize the amount of fat removed. Best, Mats Hagstrom M.D.
The amount of fat removed is relevant to how much fat there is in any particular area. Instead of being concerned with numbers, focus on results. It typically will take months to see final results. Best wishes!
