Will tear trough swelling after fillers go down more? (Photo)

I'm sorry to hear you aren't happy with the results of your Restylane Silk injections.  If it has only been nine days since your injections, I suspect that you may still have some swelling that hasn't resolved yet.  The good news about all hyaluronic acid injections is that they can be reversed with hyaluronidase if results are not what you desire.  I would give it another week or two and if it hasn't resolved by then, please talk to your doctor.  

I appreciate your question.Swelling can take 2 - 4 weeks to resolve with Restylane silk due to particle size of the product.  You can contact injecting MD to see if perhaps they would recommend a course of steroids to help expedite the resolution of the swelling.  Or you can wait 4 weeks and then return to injecting MD if you are still not happy and discuss dissolving the filler.The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam.Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative plastic surgery.Best of luck!Dr. Schwartz

Thank you for your question.  I would continue to wait to see if more swelling resolves.  If you liked the appearance at the time of the injection, then you will likely return to that state.  I would followup with your injector in a week or two to reassess.

It takes approximately two weeks for swelling to resolve after filler. However, given the smaller particle size of Restylane Silk, swelling tends to last longer especially under the eyes. I recommend following up with you injector in one month if the swelling is still bothering you at which point you may dissolve some of the filler if you wish.

Unfortunately, it is not uncommon to have swelling in the tear trough area for several weeks and sometimes  one month following your procedure. Continue to follow up with your treating physician. If there is no resolution you may consider hyaluronidase injections. Best of luck.

It takes 2-3 weeks sometimes for swelling to go down in this area.  If you are not happy then, I suggest reversing it with hyaluronidase.  Best, Dr. Emer.

There is possibly still a component of swelling present, depending on how much filler was injection into the tear troughs. If after two weeks it is still bothersome and not going down at all, I would recommend dissolving some of the filler with small amounts of hyaluronidase to make it look less full. 

It is not uncommon to have tear trough swelling following hyaluronic acid treatments.  It may take several weeks for the swelling to resolve. 

It is likely you are still experiencing some degree of swelling. I would recommend returning to your injector to evaluate the aesthetic result 3 weeks after the injection. Restylane Silk is a filler that provides fairly subtle volume enhancement but often creates the greatest amount of temporary swelling in comparison to to other fillers. Best of luck!
