I absolutely hate the projection of my breast implants. After waiting 10 years to finally go through with a BA, I went against my gut and opted for a larger implant to give the appearance of a lift. While the results look great, I am completely uncomfortable with how large and how far my implants project outwards. I would like to exchange my 545 SRX’s for 375 SRM’s, stay over the muscle and possibly get a lift years later.
Answer: Explant and lift after failed implants Initially, you wanted to achieve the appearance of a lift and got implants instead. This frequently happens with patients. Unfortunately, you have not provided photographs. At this time, I recommend explantation and lift using The Bellesoma Method. The implants are removed, your breast tissue is reshaped creating upper pole fullness, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained, if not injured during your previous surgery. Later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Reduce I would suggest discussing this with your surgeon. Adding volume does not lift the breasts. The sooner you reduce your implants, the less stretch on your tissue remains.

Answer: How long after a subglandular breast augmentation do I have to wait to exchange my implants for a smaller size? I would have you wait a minimum of 6 months after surgery to do the implant exchange. You will likely get answers from 3-12 months for this question. There is no absolute here. I prefer 6 months as it allows time for complete healing and softening of scars. As always, be sure to research who performs your surgery to ensure the best likelihood of a positive result.

Answer: Implant replacement Dear Fantastic749235, I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast augmentation surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides and the implants drop to their final position, you will be able to see the final result of your breast augmentation surgery.
