When the fat is transferred on the top part of your butt for a BBL, does the fat slowly travel around the buttocks to shape it?

There are different places where we could injected it: it could be under the skin (subcutaneous) or inside the muscle; those different places could affect the survival rate but not the traveling. The fat does not move once it is injected into a certain area of the buttock. The fat needs to be carefully injected into the correct location, which is typically into the gluteal muscle or just on top of the muscle. It takes a few months for the fat to soften up and settle however. Consult with a few plastic surgeons in person to see if you are a good candidate.Best wishes,Dr.Bruno

The grafted fat stays where it was placed. It does not run like liquid in a bottle.The augmentation you see at 6 months or so is likely to be the final result unless you gain or lose weight.

When fat is injected into a space it will stay there if it survives. It does not move to other areas. The surgeon needs to shape the buttock at the time of surgery. The shape will change ovet the first 3 to 6 months as the swelling goes down and some of the fat gets absorbed.Paul Wigoda MDdrwigoda.com

Typically the fat is injected in small amounts from different positions and at different levels to sculpt a pleasing shape and to maximize the survival of the fat cells that are being transferred. The fat cannot move from where it is placed regardless of which region is being enhanced. This is because the fat is wedged into tight areas with no freedom to move.
