Mondors Cords? After Liposuction on Upper Abdomen?

Im 24 days post mini tt upper abdo lipo & lipo on thighs & flanks... I have these awful cord like lumps under my skin all over my upper abdo, they feel like they are going to snap when I stretch out, and one on the inside of my left thigh, which is a little painful as well.. I have been massaging then, warm compress, anti inflammatory meds, nothing is working.. how long do they take to go away ??

Hello FiFi,

	Its hard to know without exam or photos.  If it is either thrombosed veins or swelling of the liposuction cannula path it will go away with time.  A groove causes by irregular liposuction should also improve but if severe may persist to some degree.

It could take up to 12-16 weeks for all swelling and lumps ( if any ) to resolve completely.

	If available , you may consider ultrasound therapy and lymphatic drainage massages to improve comfort and reduce tightness of the skin.

After your surgery such cords, lumps, etc will wane over the next 6 months 80%. The last 20 % occurs from 6 to 12 months. You may have quicker resolution but there is zero you can do to speed the wound healing process. You can hinder the process but you cannot really speed it along. Be patient. My Best, Dr C
