Can Lipo be done above the jawline and underneath the cheekbone area to contour it?

I have extensive experience with exactly what you are asking, I even had it done myself. It is an uncommon procedure and expectations should be realistic, but they beat traditional methods when subtlety is a prerequisite. I am not a big fan of liposuction of the face because in many instances it can cause premature aging.

While this can be done and there are some who do it, even if it were to look good initially, it is generally not a good idea to remove facial volume as it will look hollowed and gaunt years later and require fat grafting to replace it. Having said that, there may be rare cases where it may be beneficial and I do mean rare. The primary focus these days is to combat aging with volume replacement and improved three dimensional results. If you want more defined cheekbones I would usually not perform a resection of tissue to do that but a procedure where material is added to the cheekbone area. However, without photos it is impossible to tell if you are that very rare patient where it would help and not cause future issues. Contouring below the jawline in the neck area is a different story and can be helpful.

Thank you for the question.  Loss of facial volume is a common part of aging.  Because of this liposuction of the face is not a a frequently performed procedure.   Buccal fat pad removal can be performed to give the central cheek a more sculpted look.  Doing so makes the cheek bones look higher.  Liposuction of the jawline however, is a commonly performed procedure as it aid in giving the jawline a more visible, well defined appearance.
