Hi Tanya, thanks for your question. I recommend that you wait until you are healthy and feeling well before undergoing any type of injection treatment. I suggest seeing an experienced injector when you are ready for your Kybella treatments to ensure the best possible results. Hope this helps!
I recommend waiting until you feel better before getting a Kybella treatment. You also have a few options to improve a double chin. Both Kybella or neck liposuction are good options and will improve the double chin. It depends on your lifestyle and personality which would be better for you. Kybella is best for patients that:1) Do not want surgery 2) Are not surgical candidates 3) Not willing to wear a compression dressing around the face for 1 week 4) Patient- The results of Kybella will take monthsKybella take 1-3 treatments every 6 weeks. Patient will develop swelling and possible bruising after each injection that may last a few days. The benefit of Kybella is each treatment is quick and completed in the office. However, some patients need more than one treatment to get desired results. Neck Liposuction is best for patients that:1) Want a single treatment 2) One recovery time- Downtime for neck liposuction require wearing a wrap around face for 1 week. 3) Less painful 4) Quicker results 5) Cost is a concernNeck liposuction is a quick surgical procedure that can be complete while the patient is awake. It cost around the same price a Kybella and can be less in patients with heavier necks. The single recovery of neck liposuction may be a better option for some patients.I hope this helps.
Although it is probably just fine, my advice is that it is probably best to wait until you are feeling better before proceeding with the Kybella treatment.
I recommend following up with your Doctor about their recommendations. I recommend that it is best to wait until your sore throat has improved before getting Kybella. Kybella is good for removing stubborn areas of fat. Keep in mind, a combination approach is needed to get the most improvement with non-invasive options like Kybella. I recommend Kybella with thermage, ultherapy, exilis. VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF is a great alternative for contouring the chin, if you're a candidate. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
Dear tanyya341,Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office. I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable. It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
I would not recommend doing and procedure while you are unwell. It's best to wait till your sore throat has cleared.
I would definitely hold off on any cosmetic procedure, especially one around the neck if you have a sore throat since Kybella can produce a lot of swelling afterwards. Please consult an expert in Kybella fore the best cosmetic results. Best, Dr. Green
Hello and thanks for the question I just saw a patient who was getting over a cold and I recommended against the treatment while he was not feeling well. The sore throat may potentiate the discomfort. I would wait a week if possible. Good luck and I hope this helps Dr David
Since Kybella is an elective treatment I recommend waiting for a time when you are at optimal health. There is a chemical reaction taking place immediately afterwards then a healing process. Allow your body's immune system not to be taxed with anything other than restoring you to your best health right now.
Thank you for your question. You can still have Kybella injections if you have a sore throat. However, I would advise against any cosmetic treatment if you are not feeling well. For more information, please make sure you get a in person consultation from a board-certified dermatologist.
Kybella injections are very safe and effective when performed by an experienced and professional injector, either a Doctor or a Nurse. Injections are intended to treat submental adipose tissue, if performed with the right technique injections are not even close to salivary glands or the pla...
In my opinion, and I am not alone in this, Kybella is an expensive bummer. Generally it really does take 6 sessions of Kybella to get a satisfactory result. At the end of 6 sessions at one month intervals, 40% of patients will be dissatisfied with the results. In addition, the treatment is ve...
Thank you for the question. Yes it appears you would be a suitable candidate for Kybella. Kybella is FDA approved for treatment of a "double chin" or submental fullness. We inject Kybella, a synthetic version of naturally occurring deoxycholic acid, below the skin. It dissolves and...
"I suggest reaching out to an expert for a formal consultation. I like to recommend my patients start a combination of facial rejuvenation treatments. 1) Skincare with products and microneedling/PRP 2) PDT Light Therapy a few times per month with growth factors 3) Laser treatments like Clear +...
