You should be able to get a mommy makeover. However, you will need to get clearance first from your pulmonologist. Then let your surgeon know of your condition so he or she can coordinate your proper care with the anesthesiologist. My best,Dr. Sheila Nazarian@drsheilanazarian on Instagram
If your asthma is well controlled with medication or inhalers, it is typically safe for you to have general anesthesia and a mommy makeover. Continue to take your inhaler throughout the pre and post-op phase.Your surgeon may require medical clearance from your pulmonary doc.The steroid in the inhaler will not affect wound healing of your incision. Bring your inhalers with you on the day of surgery. All the best,
Typically for asthma is fairly stable it's safe to have mommy makeover surgery. Typically, it is not necessary to stop your steroid inhaler. The anesthesiologist will evaluate all these issues and determine the most appropriate course so that you could have the safest outcome from mommy makeover procedure. Best wishes.
Thank you for your question. Generally, asthma is not a problem for scheduling surgery. I routinely have my patients who have medical problems seen and cleared by their primary care physician to make sure their medical problems are adequately optimized and controlled for surgery. Safety is mine and most surgeon's number one priority. Best to speak with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area. All the best
You will need to discuss your medical history including medications with a board certified surgeon in order to determine if you are a candidate for a Mommy Makeover. You may need to first get clearance from your primary care doctor, or the person who helps you with your asthma. Generally if your asthma is well controlled you should still be able to have surgery.
The Mommy Makeover procedure should be available to you despite your asthma. Your Primary doctor or pulmonologist may need to give clearance for you and recommend the scheduled use of your inhaler the week before surgery. The anesthesiologist will be able to optimize your pulmonary status at the time of surgery. Safety should be the first priority for you and your Plastic Surgeon. Be sure you see 2 or 3 Board Certified Surgeons who can show you photos of the results you can expect. You may want to inquire if the facility uses a Board Certified Anesthesiologist or not.
Wearing braces should not interfere with your mommy makeover. However, please make sure that your surgeon knows that you wear braces.
I think you will have a nice result from the procedures you have planned. However liposuction could further enhance your results and likely wouldn't complicate surgery as it is commonly added as part of a Mommy Makeover. You will not look "weird" without it. I encourage you to further discuss...
