Im 8 weeks post breast augmentation, and my right breast isn't dropping. PS said it "might" drop but, he didn't seem very convinced. He told me to wear the breast band day/night for 4 weeks, but that still might not help. Im so upset! Is there still a chance this right breast will drop down and look more like the left or is this what im stuck with??
Answer: Implant Dropping You are still very early in your healing. I would recommend daily stretching and massaging. It should improve but it will take time.

Answer: Give it more time Hi there! Thanks for the photos and question. 8 weeks is not enough time for the breasts to settle into place. I would give it about 6 months. There are many things you can do to help the breast settle. Don't wear a wired bra or wear a bra with a strap. You can also discuss with your surgeon starting downward displacement exercises on the breast that is not settling. There is still hope! If after that amount of time you can discuss possibly doing a revision.

Answer: Breast Augmentation Hi & thank you for your question. It is still early in your recovery. It can take 3 to 6 months for the implants to settle. It is not unusual for one implant to settle quicker than the other. Continue to follow your surgeons instructions and contact him or her with any concerns. Best wishes!

Answer: Definitely still possible I think it is still possible to change shape and position two months after surgery. I would suggest more aggressive massage and pushing the right side downward. If by three months it still hasn't changed shape, it's likely capsule is already formed by that time and changing position in any major way will be difficult.

Answer: 8 weeks post-op and right breast isn't dropping. PS said it might drop. Thoughts? (photo) This is impossible to determine without a physical exam, and your plastic surgeon is in the best position to manage your situation. Implants do tend to drop over time. However, larger implants in smaller women definitely benefit from massage. The goal of massage is to get the larger implant to drop into the pocket that has been dissected during surgery. No one wants to undergo another procedure to allow the implant to drop. Recommend that you wait at least three months to reevaluate.Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Los Angeles, CA
