Redness, bruising and mild swelling are common side effects after the procedure. Tenderness, lumps, discoloration and itching are side effects that can possibly occur, but are less common. It is normal to have bruising and swelling after lip injections, but I would encourage you contact your provider/doctor about your post-treatment course.  Signs like significant bruising, swelling and pain could be reasons to seek the guidance of your doctor.  It is always better to be safe and go to see your doctor before it would be too late.

It is possible to have bruising that can last 1-2 weeks after Juvederm filler. If you are experiencing pain, please contact your doctor for assessment.

Hello - thank you for the photos. Your bruising looks quite normal to me and I don't think you should worry too much. Bruising is completely normal... A lot of trauma is done to the lips during lip injections. Take some all natural Arnica tablets to help the bruising heal faster.

It is normal to see bruising after Juvederm lip injections.  The swelling and bruising should begin to subside several days after your treatment and you can ice the injection area to help with the swelling.  If after two weeks the swelling and bruising has not gone away, I would recommend scheduling a follow up visit with your provider.

Swelling and bruising are common after lip injections and can take up to two weeks to resolve.  It appears your bruising is normal, but if you have further concerns follow up with your injector.  Intermittent use of ice during the first few days may help with swelling.

Thankyou for your question. Lips are always high risk swelling and you definitely have a large bruise. I would ice the lips over the next few days . It will settle and there is nothing to be worried about. Hope this helps

The bruising in these photos appear to be normal after lip injections. If you notice any "blanching" or white appearance to the skin that is more concerning for a complication. If you experience sudden extreme swelling or pain that would also be cause to call your injector immediately. This should resolve on its own!
