If I downsize my compression garment now, is it too late to see results? Not seeing any results.

If you feel that you can handle a smaller garment, let your board certified plastic surgeon know and as long as she is okay with it, the smaller garment will definitely still help. Your swelling can last for up to 6 months after the procedure so wearing garments that are snug and keeping regular follow ups are key to a good result.Thank you for your question!Kate Ross, MD

My best guess is that you had your procedure done at a facility that begins with S B. They are the only ones I've ever heard of who try to impose second stage garments as some type of an improvement to their procedure. In fact, if that is who you went to, the company sets each clinic at monthly target sales goals for how many second stage garments can be sold. There is no advantage in wearing compression garments after the first week or two. In fact, pressure garments have never been shown to give any permanent improvement after liposuction. Save your money and skip the nonsense that you are being sold. Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.

At 2 weeks, you still have swelling that will mask your results. It can easily take 3-6 months to see results. I tell my patients to be careful about salt intake as this can make swelling worse. Be sure to keep any scheduled follow up appointments you have with your surgeons for his evaluation and advice. Good luck, Dean Vistnes.

At two weeks post op, it is still very early in the recovery process.  It will take at least three to six months to see the final results.  Check with your surgeon, but if your present garment feels too loose, it may be time to switch to a smaller size.  Best wishes, Dr. Lepore.
