What do I do with my big forehead and low eyebrows? (Photo)

Question

I have a big forehead and i think the reason that is ,because my eyebrows are low and make me look mad when i relax them. I would like to fix this but i dont know weather i should get hair line lowering or just raise my eyebrows an inch or two.I would personally like to lift my eyebrows but i dont know if that procedure alone can be done.I would like to know any other option out there. Thank you

Thank you for Shean for your question.Assuming your scars heal well and you have no personal or family history of dark or raised scars (keloids), you could consider a hairline incision, an advancement of your scalp forward (lowering the hairline) and at the same time, raising your eyebrows.  Two birds with one stone so to speak.Hair transplant is another option for lowering a hairline.Botox can also help in raising the outer part of the eyebrows but it is temporary.  I call it a Botox-Forehead lift.  You are quite young so the cost of Botox alone would not be astronomical.Let us know if this information was

The combination of concerns can be effectively addressed with a hairline lowering forehead lift. By this approach, you are decreasing the space between brows and hairline. I would strongly advise against endoscopic or regular browlift as it will raise your hairline further. Alternatively, you could consider hair restotration to lower your hairline alone.

I agree with Dr. Kabaker. Hairline lowering with browlift is the way to go in a female patient with a high forehead and heavy brow. This surgery solves two problems at once!

Your forehead appears large because of both issues - a high hairline and low brows. The operation to improve both is actually the same surgery with a couple tweaks. An "inch or two" higher is unreasonable and in my opinion would be unaesthetic for the brows and that would likely be the maximum you could hope for in terms of lowering the hairline. The combination of both changes however adds up to a noticeable difference.

Thank you for the question and photo. Your hairline is certainly at a high position up the forehead, but it can be lowered with a "forehead lift", where the incision is made right at the start of the hair pattern in the center, and tapered off into the scalp on each side. When the forehead tissues are then "loosened up" by dissecting beneath the skin and forehead muscle down to the brows, the forehead is then "pulled up" and the excess is trimmed off and the raised forehead is finally sutured to the scalp at the hairline incision, so you will get both brow elevation and lowering of the hairline at the same time. The surgery can even be done under local anesthesia and just some light sedation for most patients--saving you considerable $ over going to the hospital and having it done under a general anesthesia. Talk with a board-certified Plastic Surgeon experienced in doing "Forehead" Lifts. Good luck!

If you are female, a hairline lowering forehead/brow lift, all done through a trichophytic hairline incision, would be an ideal approach to your problem. If you are male, you would likely need hair transplants afterwards.
