After meeting with several top rated plastic surgeons in Austin, I found Dr. Levesque. He was the only one willing to do a Deep plane facelift under local anesthesia, right in his office. This, along with his entire practice/staff, level of professionalism and explanation, etc., gave me complete confidence in having him do the procedure. I was still nervous going into procedure day, but truly, I am still amazed that I literally walked out of there looking like nothing had happened (well, other than the stitches under the bandages, ha!) and feeling fine. I walked the dog when I got home, and was able to shower and wash my hair the next day. I will try to post some photos that show the minimal amount of bruising. The truth is, I could have gone most anywhere and with only swelling, only someone who knew me would have wondered if I'd had a procedure done, and this from day 1!!! I guess that using local involves being given something that minimizes blood circulation in the area during the procedure, so there was just almost no bruising. It has been 2.5 months since the surgery. The scars are healing fine. I still have a bit of tightness in my right neck and some numbness on sides of my face and around ears, but that's about it. The really cool thing is that it is just so natural looking. Updated on 6 Dec 2023: The first 3 photos are pre-op. The rest are all of the first week. I will post some later photos soon. Overall though, I’m still really happy with the results. We had planned to do a face fat transfer after the lift and decided to postpone it for another day. Yesterday,, 11 months after the deep plane lift, it happened. I’ll post photos of the post-op, and once it has healed somewhat, in a few weeks.
Dr. Levesque & his staff are absolutely the best!!! Superb professionalism along with friendliness, cleanliness, & genuine care are what prompted me to write this review. I was terrified having 4 basal cell carcinomas removed from my face. Outcome - surgery was almost pain free, all cancers removed with no scarring after 5 weeks. Dr. Levesque was always a phone call away. I always got a live person the few times I called post surgery which were a great comfort. I really feel I hit the jackpot choosing this fantastic surgeon. Highly recommend!
After years of diet, exercise and prodding at my belly, I decided to bite the bullet and get a tummy tuck. I’ve had 2 babies and one was delivered via C-section. I also have PCOS and hypothyroid/Hashimoto’s, which adds to the challenge of losing my mummy tummy. I consulted with 4 surgeons and Dr. Levesque was the clear favorite from the moment I spoke with him. His staff went out of their way to get a consultation scheduled for me in a timely manner. His bedside manner is second to none. He clearly strives to have as much relevant current knowledge as possible, and is willing to discuss with an open mind. He did not try to upsell and I felt the consultation experience was genuine and comprehensive. I had the procedures completed today, which was a lipoabdominalplasty and bilateral upper arm lipo. About 10 years ago I had lipo on my thighs and flanks while living in another state. The surgery went off without a hitch and there were no complications. I haven’t removed my binder yet to see what my skin looks like, but I can clearly see my new shape and I am very excited! I am posting before pictures so y’all can see where I started, and will update as we go. I had moderate ab separation and significant flab, and I’m so excited to see what my body looks and feels like after it’s all healed. Updated on 18 Jun 2020: I’m finally coming out of the haze and ready to check in. One of the more annoying side effect of whatever I was taking was my typing wasn’t close enough for autocorrect to figure out what I meant. I’ve had my first follow-up appointment and had a few lymphatic drainage massages. Since the surgery was drainless, there is some fluid draining towards my knees with a bit of bruising, but it’s not painful. Photos in no particular order. Updated on 18 Jun 2020: These are mirror selfies taken in the last day or 2 (post-op day 4-5 I think). Still a good amount of bruising and swelling, but starting to dissipate. Lymphatic massage has helped move things along, as well as short walks around my house. Ice helps with pain too. Updated on 21 Jun 2020: Overall doing well. I’m seeing/typing straight which is good, and mostly coherent. I have some draining bruises on my legs mostly. They aren’t bothersome, just worth noting. I am continuing with lots of arnica, dry brushing and lymphatic massage when scheduling permits. I feel like I have a lot of energy, but after about 10 minutes it’s gone and I’m back to bed. Oh well. Updated on 24 Jun 2020: Everything is healing nicely. I was able to see how my abs will be able to move a little today, they’ve been largely numb and immobile except for when I move too fast or in the wrong way then I get a firm tugging sensation reminding me to slow down. I have a lot of energy for about 5 minutes then I’m tired and have to go take a nap. My belly button had some discharge so I went to visit Dr. Levesque, who confirmed it is healing fine but is irritated by the stitches. Since this is was a stainless procedure, my body is also looking for places to drain as needed, and that’s the main one. I also had a stitch or 2 by each of my elbows from the lipo cannula, which were ready to come out. I’m having a good amount of internal drainage down my legs with some volume but mostly looking bruised, although it’s not bruising. It doesn’t hurt or anything, but I was amused at how well the colors coordinated with my knee pillow so I am posting a picture. Updated on 24 Jun 2020: Healing nicely. There is a lot of drainage bruising, but this is mostly not actual bruising and does not hurt. Everything on my legs, side hips, and forearms is just for show, there’s no pain in those areas. The smaller bruises around my abs and biceps are painful, but not nearly as impressive looking as the decorative ones elsewhere. I’m feeling better and moving around more, but still get tired quickly. My belly button started to drain a little, so now I’m putting a small piece of gauze and some tape on it after it dries from a shower.
I am so excited I saw Helen K today! I am very picky about who touches my face and I haven’t seen anyone since Helen left Devenir Aesthetics. So I was ecstatic to learn she joined Dr. Andre Levesque’s plastic surgery office and I just got back from having Botox. As always, Helen was amazing. It didn’t hurt one bit (and I am not a fan of needles), always double checked where she was injecting and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. I am super excited to get rid of these wrinkles again! Thank you Helen – you are the best ever!
I cannot express enough how impressed I am with Dr. Levesque. I first met with him in August to discuss a surgery and he answered all of my questions plus gave me additional information I hadn't thought of. I did go see two other surgeons to do my due diligence. After seeing all three, hands down Dr. Levesque was my favorite. He was very honest, didn't try to "up sell me", personable and it was obvious he was extremely caring about his patients. Fast forward to my surgery date in December (I needed to schedule it in December for personal reasons) and Dr. Levesque didn't skip a beat addressing all of my pre-op questions and trust me, I came in with a list of them! The day of my surgery I was kind of nervous and Dr. Levesque's bedside manner was most impressive. He ensured I was well taken care of and I felt comfortable. After surgery once I was at home, (it was a Friday) he called in the afternoon to make sure I was doing okay. He also called on Saturday and Sunday to check in on me. At my first post-op appointment he was very diligent on checking all of my incisions, addressing all of my questions, and making sure I was feeling okay. In between my post-op appointments I had a few questions and each time I sent an email he responded within minutes. Even if I indicated it wasn't an urgent issue and I was just inquiring. Overall, his dedication to his patients, bedside manner, his up to date surgery techniques, etc are completely stellar. I have recommended others to see him and one of my friends also choose to go with Dr. Levesque for a procedure which turned out amazing also! I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Levesque and I wouldn't dream about seeing another plastic surgeon. I am 6 weeks post op and my results are amazing and they just continue to get better each day. Thank you Dr. Levesque!
Though I was somewhat apprehensive about taking this step, Dr. Levesque's friendly and professional manner put me at ease immediately. He met with me ahead of time to patiently explain what to expect at every step in the process and kept me engaged and relaxed throughout the procedure. I am pleased with my results and highly recommend Dr. Levesque and his staff at Devenir.
Dr. Levesque is a stellar doctor. He is thorough, attentive, and knowledgeable. He provides information and statistics beneficial to the procedure. I had breast augmentation done on a Friday and was mobile within 48 hours. The pain was minimal compared to what I had anticipated. I have waited almost a year before posting my review. No complications and happy with my results.
What a fabulous experience! Being that it was my first time to have my lips injected with filler, I was most comfortable with Dr. Levesque and his staff. Dr. Levesque answered all of my questions and was very patient with me. Dr. Levesque's demeanor is very easy-going, and yet he is very knowledgeable and perceptive. He provided a thorough description as to where the injections sites would be and the advantage of their placement. WOW! I love the results! My lips are fuller and look very natural. People truly notice my lips, but they don't know!
Dr. Levesque is an awesome surgeon! He has performed both cosmetic procedures (neck and face lift, fat transfer) as well as reconstruction/wound closure following excision of cancer on my nose by another provider. I could not be more pleased with the results! A clinician with finely honed surgical skills, Dr. Levesque has an artist's eye and sense of symmetry and proportion that is necessary to achieve the best result for an individual. He starts with an interview and medical assessment to develop a plan together that best accommodates the patient's goals. He outlines what to expect during and following the procedure. After the surgery and the patient is back home, he personally calls to follow up. He makes himself accessible. The front office, medical staff and aestheticians are super. It is great to be in a facility where staff work as a team and personally enjoy and respect the patients as well as each other.
Dr. Levesque takes time with his consultations, explaining in detail the effects of treatment, possible side effects, temporary, short-term and long-term results. He made certain I understood everything, and he was willingly to answer hundreds of questions, patiently, to address my concerns. Additionally, his work was subtle, and my treatment didn't look artificial, a truly natural look. Results were terrific. Paired with excellent knowledgeable staff, I strongly recommend his practice.
Hello and thank you for your question. When liposuction is performed fat cells are permanently removed from your body. So the areas treated should not only "look thinner" they should have less fat cells and less chance to increase or decrease in size based on your weight fluctuations throughout life. Now the areas not treated would respond to weight fluctuations perhaps with a little more noticeable change given relatively there are more fat cells able to enlarge or decrease their size with weight change. In my practice, I have not seen this as a major issue in the majority of patients however I do feel the best liposuction candidates are those patients that are close to their ideal body weight without any unrealistic weight changes specifically before surgery. For example, there are those patients that are underweight but still would like a BBL and are told to increase their weight prior to a BBL and on the flip side patients that are significantly overweight told to crash diet before a body contouring procedure can be done. I take issue with that approach as we are typically at a steady state when it comes to weight because it is what is comfortable for us from an intake and expenditure of calories. We can certainly do things on a short term basis with a weight goal in mind but unless long lasting changes in habits are accomplished before surgery than after surgery patients will likely drift back toward a comfortable steady state. I have seen a trend however with aggressive liposuction that patients do find it easier to maintain a lower body weight than before. I attribute this to we have literally removed millions of fat cells. Cells the body no longer needs to nourish and thus the need for calories decreases. I've also found that the boost in confidence seen when those stubborn areas of fat are removed helps keep patients motivated to put in the work to maintain their results. Hope this answers your question. Best Dr L. in ATX
Thank you for your question and photos. I would agree that no surgeon can guarantee results and that even a true expert performing liposuction can result in some irregularities. From your photos it does appear that you have some difference in adipose (fat) tissue not just a difference in skin elasticity. I would recommend seeing a couple board certified plastic surgeons for an in person examination and consultation. Secondary liposuction when irregularities already exist is incredibly hard. In my experience improvements are usually made but perfectly smooth results are the exception rather than the rule. I could see surgeons recommending VASER or SAFE liposuction and possibly needing fat grafting in some of the depressed areas. After revision liposuction there would certainly be a need for lymphatic massage, appropriate garments, and close follow up to make sure there are no undiagnosed fluid collections.
Thank you for your photo and question. The fullness is either excess skin, redundant and sagging muscles, or extra fat in front or behind the muscle. Unfortunately, this is common as we all age and typically put on a little weight throughout the years. An in-person exam would be able to determine what structures are contributing to the fullness and sagging and once identified a treatment plan could be formulated. This could range from kybella injections, non invasive body contouring (cool sculpting, EM sculpt, vanquish etc), liposuction, liposuction with energy (J-plasma and or Vaser), or surgical necklifts and +/- chin augmentation. I'd recommend picking a few board certified plastic surgeons in your area for an evaluation to know what options there are to improve the area. Good Luck Dr. L
Thank you for your question. Yes the combination of these procedures are commonly linked together and marketed as a mommy makeover. I personally dislike the term as it not specific as it can be a combination of many different procedures. For example it could be just an augmentation, or a lift and tummy tuck, lift and lipo, etc. It also is a little insulting in my opinion, The female form is beautiful in all its ways. Now if a mom wants to change something all power to her but I wouldn’t use a makeover as a term as this suggests something is wrong and needs to be redone. Moms are awesome!
Thank you for your question and photos. This is certainly a personal choice on your part as to what your goals are with augmentation. A well trained surgeon will likely recommend implants with a diameter that would match your chest dimensions. This could be measured directly as well as estimated using 3D photography system such as Vectra. In my practice we start by matching the implant diameter to the patients base width minus soft tissue thickness (this is a measurement of the width of one breast essentially). We then choose among the different implant profiles like moderate, moderate plus, high, ultra high based on how large the patient would like to be after surgery. I often describe this by an analogy of who do you want to know you've had an augmentation. Low = only you will know Moderate = only you and significant other will know Moderate plus = other people might guess High or ultra high = most will assume. Wish you the best on your research. Dr. L
