Dear TWierenga,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photo, it looks like you don't have much loose skin. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
In my experience, I would not recommend a tummy tuck- you appear to have great skin, tight muscle and only minimal stubborn fat.Vaser ultrasound liposuction would remove stubborn fat and avoid tummy tuck scar.An exam and consultation with a plastic surgeon who performs these procedures is recommended to confirm you are a candidate as well as discuss your options and expectations.
Mini TT’s focus their results on the skin which is under the belly button. Your photo shows that you should be an excellent candidate for a mini tummy tuck to tighten your lower abdominal skin. If your rectus fascia is separated below your belly button, this can also be tightened at the same time. Have a detailed consultation with your plastic surgeon. Best wishes.
It looks like you have minimal skin laxity and no diastasis of the muscle wall. Given the situation, liposuction can help flatten the lower tummy bulge and retract nicely. Thank you.
It all depends on what your goals are and what the condition of your abdomen is. If the skin in you upper abdomen is good but you notice loose skin in the lower abdomen, then a mini can be a great choice. If you have a muscle separation, then a mini with umbilical float would be considered.
HelloYou are a good candidate for a mini-Tummy Tuck. I would lipo the anterior abdomen and the waist area, as well as remove the excess skin in the lower central abdomen. Depending on your abdominal wall laxity, I would consider tightening the lower abdominal wall. The tightening has to be done so that the upper part of the abdomen does not appear protruding (it needs to be balanced with the upper abdominal wall tone. In addition, micro lipo cannulas should be used to minimize skin irregularities and best contouring.
I’m not sure the scar from a mini tummy tuck would be worth it. Although it’s not dramatic, I would consider a few sessions of microneedling radiofrequency combo such as Morpheus8 and then reassess. Have some consults. Get some face to face opinions.
Thank you for the photos! You are probably one of the very few patients who would be a candidate for a mini tummy tuck. I understand why everyone wants one, your shape looks like you’re a candidate for a mini versus a full. 95% of people need a full.
Patient that are candidates for a mini tummy tuck often have limited excess skin that is mainly below the belly button. If there is muscle weakening below the umbilicus that can be address with a mini abdominoplasty. Patients that have muscle diastasis /separation above the belly button, either the umbilicus can be floated, or they benefit from a full abdominoplasty. Overall, most patients benefit from a full tummy tuck.
Many thanks for your Realself.com question with photos. A more thorough understanding of your situation important to answer properly. For example, your pregnancy history and possibility of future pregnancies? What exactly is your idea of "great results," a subjective judgment. In agreement with Dr. Hagstrom, indications for aesthetic surgery are variable among patients. The "downside" of surgery must be compared to the "upside," i.e. how much improvement is possible, the type of improvement you want, how and how much your current appearance bothers you. Overall, your body looks rather nice and I would be reluctant to change anything unless the indications are strong. If indications are strong, it would be a Laverson type 1 or type 2 tummy tuck, example at link. Best wishes, hope this helps.
Dear 40yearoldtuneup, based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Flanks liposuction would give you a better shape. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only...
One of the most commonly asked questions I received from patients who are considering a tummy tuck is how is their belly button going to come out. It’s important to look at the before and after galleries of any surgeon that you’re considering to make sure that you are happy with their res...
Hi- Great question! Yes, an umbilical hernia can often be repaired during a mini abdominoplasty, depending on the specifics of the case and the surgeon’s approach. If you have an umbilical hernia (a bulge near the belly button), it may be addressed at the same time as the mini tummy tuck. The s...
