This procedure can revitalize your appearance by targeting jowls, tightening your skin, and angulating your jawline. Facelifts are unlikely to provide the changes you’d like to make to your mouth’s appearance. However, this procedure can be combined with a lip lift to shorten an extended philtrum and provide a subtle, natural-looking lift. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon. They will be able to determine the best approach to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.

In order to lift the corners of the mouth on a long term basis the Suoerficial muscle-fasciae layer(SMAS) must be released and lifted which involves a deep plane approach. Most mini facelifts tighten the SMAS with sutures without releasing the deeper attachments and the improvement will less and not as long lasting. I Woukd choose your surgeon carefully and look at before and after pictures and understand the approach. Experience and reputation of the surgeon are important criteria.

A mini facelift will not do much for your mid face. It will lift your cheeks, strengthen your jawline and jowls and neck. Your mid face will do well with volume replenishment with fillers.

The main function of a mini facelift is to smooth the jawline. You might get a little improvement at the mouth, but a filler will definitely be needed to give the best result. Be sure to see a facial specialist for consultation.

I guess your question is really whether you need a facelift at all and it’s hard to tell from the photos. Mini, standard, deep plane? That will depend on your surgeons recommendations. Actually not that much difference between them except the cost

An examination in person would be required to properly evaluate you and advise you on your concerns, but based on your photo it appears that you can do well with injectables or facial fat grafting. It does not appear that you have significant laxity or looseness that would warrant a surgical facelift. The definition of facial rejuvenation varies from surgeon to surgeon and means different things to different patients. In general it is the process to try to reverse the facial appearance caused by aging. It may involve improving the skin texture and complexion, diminishing skin discoloration, minimizing fine lines and wrinkles, contouring hollows, or tightening loose tissue that has lost its elasticity.

There are a variety of procedures, both non-surgical and surgical which can be utilized to achieve these various goals. Fillers, Botox or Dysport, micro-fat grafts, chemical peels, a skin care program, lasers, skin tightening, and surgical lifts are some of the methods that are used to achieve a cosmetic improvement. Each has advantages and disadvantages as well as limitations of what they can achieve. The best technique or combination of procedures depends on desired outcome, individual anatomy, underlying medical health, and extent of aging. There is no one approach that is ideal for everyone.

I would suggest you find a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with who has all of the modalities of treatment available. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person.
