I had a breast augmentation five years ago. I had (still have) tuberous breasts. The surgeon placed 360 cc implants under the muscle with the incision under, he told me he had to create some space on the lower part of my breast due to tuberous breast. I haven't had any problems with them, but now I started to feel like first of all; they are small for my frame, I'm 5'7; Also, I feel like they are not placed correctly. I would appreciate some feedback.
Answer: Redo breasts augmentation Dear Lovett, Thanks for posting your pictures, however it would have been helpful to see the before pictures as well. In any event, from observing the pictures , you appear to be full B cup size with wide cleavage due to lateral displacement of the implants and medial capsule contracture or sub optimal medial pocket margins dissection. . Your areolas are moderately herniated which is one of the characteristics of tuberous breasts. To improve your breasts I would recommend the followings: 1. Increase breasts' cup size to full C or small D , which are the most popular in my practice. If you are currently 34 full B , to become 34 full C you will need implants size of 500 cc. For 34 small D 550 cc. 2. Perform medial capsulotomy (scar release) and lateral capsulorrhaphy (internal bra) in order to give you a nice cleavage, more breasts projection and fuller upper pole. You might need also upper capsulotomy to accommodate the bigger implants. 3. The areolas can be improves with Purse string areola reduction (donut). Always consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeon who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly, check the before and after pictures of redo breasts augmentation to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive with nice cleavage, perky and natural looking. Answer: BA results Dear Lovett13, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Breast augmentation results To make an assessment regarding the outcome of a plastic surgery procedure we generally need to see a complete sense of proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have before and after pictures, then ask your surgeon to forward the pictures they took. Your breath I slightly divergent, and this is Exaggerated when you get implant augmentation. Your implants look like they are placed correctly for each breast but your breast center slightly wide, and as mentioned earlier seem to be slightly divergent. This cannot be corrected with implants. The results of a plastic surgery procedure are based on the patient’s candidacy for the procedure which varies from person to person and the skill of the provider. It looks to me like your surgeon did a fine job but perhaps should’ve discussed what your results would look like in greater detail, especially that you have slight divergence. Follow up with your provider or schedule in person second opinion consultations. For a second opinion, consultations always provide a complete set up before and after pictures and preferably a copy of your operative report. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
