I am 6 weeks pregnant and scheduled for an abortion (pill form not surgical abortion) in a few days. My breast augmentation surgery date is exactly 4 weeks away from my abortion date. I’ve heard to wait 4-6 weeks after an abortion to get a breast augmentation. Will I be okay to have the surgery on that date? On the day of my surgery I will be exactly 4 weeks after having an abortion. Thanks in advance

Answer: Abortion and plastic surgery Hello, thank you for your question. You should speak with your surgeon . Need to make sure your HCG is negative, if the test is positive your surgery will be reschedule. I tell my patients at least 6 months.

Answer: Abortion pill before elective surgery Hello, thank you for your question. The pill will cause you to shed the uterine lining and essentially the embryo would shed out in the form of menstrual cycle. They say to allow 4 weeks because it may affect your hemoglobin levels. This is the level measuring in the blood work to see if whether or not you are anemic. If there is any anemia and you will undergo surgery, the concern is having blood loss. You should speak to your plastic surgeon to discuss the surgery and the estimated blood loss. Ultimately they will have to give the "go ahead"
