Thank you for your question. The reason your tongue and lips went numb, has nothing to do with the surgery. It is more than likely a reaction to one of the medications that you are taking. I would call your surgeon and see what they suggest as far as what medications you can stop or which one could of caused it. Good luck with recovery.
It sounds as if you have had some sort of allergic reaction to one of your medications. Call your surgeon to discuss which one it could be and switch it out with something else. Best, Dr. Nazarian
The numbness may be related to the tube that was put in your throat for anesthesia. Best to discuss with your surgeon.
Thank you for the question. It could be a reaction from one of the medications your surgeon prescribed. Best to inform your surgeon about this concern. Best of luck. Dr. Michael Omidi.
The numbness could be related to a drug reaction, or, if you had general anaesthesia with a tube to assist breathing, this could have been caused by the tube pressing on your lips and tongue for the duration of the procedure. If this is the case, it is a temporary issue that will quickly improve by itself.
As others have pointed out it probably is a reaction to medication. It could be an allergic reaction, so see your doctor as soon as possible.
