I am 9 days post op. I went in at day 6 and got more tape out over the incision. I was instructed to take the tape off today. After removing the tape I've noticed some uneven healing on the sides. It seems like a ledge above the incision and a couple of bumps. Will this go away??

The ridges of your incision are caused by the closure technique which is used to give you a good long term result. Eversion of the skin edges is done on purpose is a good thing in the long term. The incision flattens out with time leaving a finer scar.  The wrinkles are caused by redistribution of the skin and also resolves with time.  This happens when you match a long upper incision to a short lower incision. You appear to be healing quite nicely.  Your surgeon did a very good job. Best wishes on your recovery.

It’s too early at this point to jump to any
conclusions.Scars mature over a 1-2
year period.I would follow up with your
plastic surgeon as he/she can guide you better through this healing phase.

It's too early to worry about any contour problems. Was visible the picture is seen from time to time after in abdominoplasty and  should improve as time passes.

It is too early to tell but most of the time incsions such as yours heal fine.   It is not uncommon to have uneven edges.   Best to you

It is too early to know if this is excess skin or swelling.  Give it some time, like 6 months and re-evaluate the problem.

Thank you for your question. It is common for the incision edges to appear slightly uneven for several weeks. I did not see any open areas, redness or drainage present on your incision. When is your next follow-up appointment with your surgeon?Iif it is not within the next week or so, I would suggest that you at least give him/her a call and share your concerns. Best of luck
