As of August, 2014 miraDry is not available for use on the hands and feet. In fact, with the current configuration treatment would be risky. However, we are actively looking into modifications that can be made to the technology to enable treatment of the hands, and possibly the feet. The miraDry platform is extremely versatile and has multiple capabilities, but the company is being appropriately diligent and cautious in advancing to the next phases of treatment. Safety is paramount.
miraDry and several other companies are looking and already investigating the use of alternative energy sources to treat palmoplantar hyperhidrosis. One of thee companies (miraDry, Ultherapy or another) will get FDA approval soon for these areas. Read the miraDry book on the link below.
At this time, MiraDry is not approved for use on hands and feet. It probably has to do with the fact that there are small nerves that would be affected if you are in the same area destroying eccrine glands with the microwave technology. I have heard that the company may be looking into it, but for now, it is not recommended.
