I know it’s to soon to know final results. I originally had an inee now after TT I have an outee. Is it possible that as it heels it will go back in? My doctor just said “wait” but I feel like is it possible is a question that can be answered, but maybe I’m wrong. I just want to know what to expect or if there is anything I can do to “push it in”.
Answer: Outie belly button. Based on the photos that you showing which is your post surgery outcome, i want to congratulate you and your surgeon on a job well done. You look amazing. As far as the belly button, i would love to see what your before photo looked like. My guess is that your belly button was always an outie like this but it was camouflaged by redundant soft tissue envelope that made it look like inward oriented belly button. What i see is now an athletic abdomen with very little soft tissue fat content with what appears to be an aesthetically appropriate belly button that fits your new appearance. I would advise you to re-orient the way you look at your result and realize that you actually look amazing and that you do not look like you had a tummy tuck. This is the new amazing you. Again go back to your surgeon and tell him he did an amazing job for you. Good luck. I hope this helps.

Answer: Very nice result. It looks like your healing well and your early result looks great. You may still have some swelling of your belly button. I would give it about 6 months to be sure it won’t improve on its own. Good luck, Dr. T

Answer: Tummy tuck Thank you for your question and excellent photos. First of all, I believe that you already have an excellent result from your surgery. That being said, the belly button can sometimes be a challenge, especially in someone as trim and fit as you are. In patients that have a little more fat in the abdominal skin, the umbilicus is pulled down toward the abdominal wall making it, and the surrounding scar less noticeable. In your case, when the excess skin was removed with your TT and with no excess fat on your abdominal wall, your belly button becomes more visible and appears more superficial. In time, i believe that this will become less noticeable. Good luck.

Answer: Belly button after TT Thanks for your question and photo. Let me begin by saying that you look to already have a fantastic result! As far as the belly button goes, it would be helpful to see pre operative photos. Many times, if you have a moderate amount of fat/skin, the belly button will appear pulled in relative to the surrounding skin, ie: an innie. After tummy tuck, if your actual umbilical depth is shallow, and you have removed fat surrounding the umbilicus, your belly button may appear flatter. It does not look like you have an umbilical hernia, which could cause an "outie" as well. This will likely improve to some degree as you heal. Best Regards.Dr Deboni@drdeboni

Answer: Why do I have an outie when I started with an innie? Will it go back? (photos) Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. You are still early on the healing process, it can take up to six months to see your final results, so please be patient. At the stage you are in, inflammation is normal. If you have any concerns, please follow up close with your plastic surgeon. Good luck :)
