Question

ANOTHER revision one week ago due to displacement. Did an internal bra with galaflex and heavy suturing around the sides. Suddenly I have puckering from the side(the side that had least problems) it has the dents and makes the breast pull down. see my ps on Thursday but I am so upset due to my history. silicone under muscle.I know it is early on. I didn’t know if this was a common with what I had done. I was warned that they may look a little box shaped at first but wasn’t warned about this.

Dear Corrine,    Thanks for posting your pictures and sorry for your problem. At one week after surgery, as you know from your own experience, you are still swollen, very early in the healing process and things are going to improve with time. The tissue will stretch and the puckering will smooth out.   Give it 2-3 months to mature and than reassess your situation with your surgeon. If the puckering remains, it can be corrected  by having small capsulotomy ( scar release) at the lower part of the breast  or placing few sutures at the bulging upper part of the lateral wall.              All the best,                                     Dr Widder

All I understand your concerns, I would agree with other respondents that these types of irregularities tend to smooth them out over the course of the first few months,  depending on exactly what type of sutures were utilized… Best wishes for an outcome that you will be pleased with longer-term.

Corrin,The dents are usually where the sutures are placed.  With time, they usually settle and disappear.  Just relax and give it some time.Dr T

Often those dents are from the sutures placed internally to hold things in a bit. They will commonly settle with time as the tissue stretches.

Shape issues after revision tend to settle down over a period of weeks and months.  Expect to see a lot of improvement over the next 6 months.  Reassess then and try to be patient.  So far everything seems to be moving in the right direction.

Thank you for your question and photographs. I do see the area that you're concerned with on the right side of your breast. This probably represents where the galaflex is sewn into the chest wall. With gravity and the weight of both the breast and the implant, this will usually round out over the course of several months. I wouldn't be that concerned about it this early. Hope that's helpful.
