3 years ago I got a unilateral reduction on one side to fix breast asymmetry. The breast that was reduced sits higher and has a smaller areola.I've been back two other times to the same surgeon to lift the other side, he didn't want to lift or change the size of the other areola, even though that's contributing to the asymmetry. Can I ask my previous surgeon to fix this with a bilateral breast lift?I don't trust only working on one breast anymore.I've wasted 3yrs and so much money for these results
Answer: Unilateral breast lift for symmetry All breasts are different right to left before and after any surgery. Size, shape, fold, chest wall, nipple position, etc will never be 100% The smaller side seems ideal- it would be much easier to match the larger side to it and get best symmetry as opposed to operating on both breasts. The larger side needs to be reshaped and nipple repositioned to match better. An exam and consultation with a /your plastic surgeon is recommended to discuss your options and expectations.

Answer: Bilateral breast lift Dear bellaluna123, my preferred lift is a lollipop lift when a periareolar won't do (ie greater than 2cm lift required). The lollipop technique was created by a Canadian plastic surgeon named Elizabeth Hall-Findley and treats the breast as a three dimensional structure instead of two dimensions (anchor - lift). Most importantly it does not require the horizontal component scars that the anchor-lift requires and breasts appear much more natural, lifted, and less boxy. Lastly, the lift lasts longer because the lollipop doesn't rely on the skin to hold the breast up, its actually breast tissue thats being brought together to support the breast and hence improves longevity. Answer: Asymmetry A revision would help you to improve the asymmetry in volume, shape, and areola size. Please be aware that perfect symmetry is not a realistic goal from surgery as each breast will be slightly unique from the other. I encourage you to visit with a few board certified plastic surgeons to listen to varying opinions.

Answer: Breast asymmetry I would agree that matching the scar patterns would improve the symmetry and areolar size/shape. The right side appears larger - maybe that needs a small reduction. If you're happy with the shape/size of the left then it's not unreasonable to leave that one alone. Maybe consider a 2nd opinion if you've undergone 3x procedures with the same surgeon and you're not achieving your goals or reasonable symmetry.

Answer: Improvement in symmetry could be possible. Thank you for your photos. Remeasuring the dimensions of your breast, such as sternal notch to nipple distance and nipple to inframammary fold distance, would show whether these distances are equal as possible or whether trimming additional skin or elevating your areola could benefit your breast shape and appearance. If your “skin envelope” is essentially the same and the volume within is nearly the same, your breast appearance should be as close to symmetry as possible. Best wishes.

Answer: Observations and Treatment Method Hello; Both for your breasts have volume asymmetry; both nipples are at different heights; there is a difference; in location of the breasts, as well as on the anterior chest wall. Nipple heights and volume differences; with revision surgery; can be solved. If, both breasts; in the bone structure in your front wall; if there is no plane difference; that creates for asymmetry; the position of your breasts on the chest wall; can also be adjusted.
