Can I still get a BBL if I have a very heavy period day of surgery?

Menstrual periods are not entirely predictable, and, as such, this is a frequent occurrence during surgery. It would be ideal to perform surgery after the menses, but it will likely have few implications for surgery. Labs results before surgery will alert your plastic surgeon to any anemia issues.

every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

One out of five women are on their period when they’re having surgery.

It is irrelevant and not of concern. Surgeons deal with blood coming from every imaginable part of the body and if needed the nurses will help clean you up. The opering room it’s a highly professional setting.

While it may be personally embarrassing it is not that way for us and it does not interfere with our ability to do our job correctly.

Surgeons can very easily differentiate between hormonal-based bloating and subcutaneous fat.

If you happened to be in the heaviest part of your period on the day of surgery then you may want to mention this to the nurse during the initial intake but she will most likely just reassure you and tell you not to worry about it.

Surgeons do not want you to reschedule because you’re having your period. If they find out you did they have a full right of keeping your entire surgical fee including the facility fee since the day is wasted.
