I had a barbecue at my mother in-law and meat was salty. I ate it and now am swollen in certain areas of body. Will it go away?. Any advise please. I started to drink lots of water.

After liposuction there is a process of swelling that peaks at 3 days after surgery and then undergoes the first stage of major resolution in the first 2 weeks after surgery. The later phase of healing takes place over the 2-3 months after surgery where everything really settles and softens. Salty foods can cause water retention and more swelling. Best is to keeo a low salt diet and follow your surgeons instructions.

Answer: Liposuction and Swelling Swelling following liposuction can persist for 3-4 months or longer depending on the extent of the procedure. During this recovery phase, a patient may also be more reactive to salty foods. The swelling that results will resolve.
