I have been going back and forth about doing this surgery for my under eye bags. I have decided to do it and am only hesitant because I want to do it with the leading expert in the field here in South Florida. Any suggestions?

There are not many of us who do fat repositioning, so if you have a deep tear trough may be a good candidate for that procedure. You should go to a few websites and look at the before and after photos. Then make some consultations with those whose pictures you like. You will certainly get a variety of different opinions and will then need to decide who you want to work with.

This is a fairly routine procedure performed by most Facial Plastic Surgeons, Occuloplastic Surgeons, and Plastic Surgeons. There is no "Jedi Master" of transconjunctival blepharoplasty.

Answer: Transconjuctival Blepharoplasty A transconjuctival bleph is very appealing because there is no incision on the outside of the lower eyelid. Usually this procedure is good in young patients that do not have much excess lower eyelid skin. If you have a tear trough deformity, fat transposition would help out with this. Sometimes it is challenging to perform adequate correction of this tear trough deformity via a transconjuctival Bleph without putting too much stress on the eyelid which could lead to ectropion or everted eyelid after your surgery. There are many well trained plastic surgeons in Miami but only a handful with special Oculoplastic training. The periorbital area is very delicated, and adequate training and experience is a must to ensure a good outcome. Hope this was helpful. Good luck!
