Best and longest lasting nose filler?

Question

Hi, I have a small hump on my nose and wanted to know if voluma is that best flyer for it. I had restayln done, but that only lasted less than a month. I want one that hopefully lasts up to a year or so. Thank you!

Thanks for your question.  Small irregularities and asymmetries in the nose can be improved with fillers and one can either use permanent or temporary fillers. Among the permanent fillers are FDA approved, Bellafill ® or fat transfer (which, of course, comes from your own body). Fillers will rarely improve nasal obstruction or make the nose smaller. For a life long result, a rhinoplasty is still generally the gold standard. Recommend an in person consult with a board certified plastic surgeon specializing in rhinoplasty to discuss your options.

In our practice, we specialize in the use of microdroplet Silikon-1000 for permanent non-surgical nose job treatments. This is particularly well suited for camouflaging a small dorsal hump. In general, several treatments are necessary for a desired result, however, Silikon-1000 never carries risks of necrosis, embolism, stroke, blindness, or biofilm. I hope this helps! Voluma is a wonderful hyaluronic-acid based dermal filler that can even out bumps on your nose to make it appear straighter. Sometimes straightening out the bumps can even create the illusion of a shorter nose because a smoother nose is less distracting. Voluma can last about a year or two. It looks and feels very natural. With that said, the nose is a dangerous area to inject because of communication with the blood supply of the eye.  Consulting a board-certified dermatologist or facial plastic surgeon will determine if you are a good candidate for a nonsurgical nose job with Voluma or a better candidate for a rhinoplasty.

Minor defects of the bridge (dorsum), central nose and tip of the nose can be very precisely and quickly corrected with fillers.  Improved definition of the tip, and straightening of the dorsum may be achieved. This may also result in  a straighter, thinner appearing nose. Reduction of a prominent dorsum or tip requires surgery.  Studying pictures of treated patients will give you an idea of what may be achieved with this technique.
Various temporary fillers are available Radiesse, Voluma and Lyft are options. Fillers which may last many years include Bellafill and fat injections.  Depending on your expectations for longevity and budget (pricing between $500 and $1900) a product can be chosen to best fit your needs.
There are no fillers that have been tested in this area by the FDA and therefor are considered "off label use".  Careful conservative correction should be performed. Silicon although initially resulting in good results may cause lumping or allergic reactions in the future which are very difficult if not impossible to correct.

I would use either Voluma or Vollure HA filler in a non surgical rhinoplasty if I was going fr longer lasting filler. But I always try to start with Juvederm ultra/plus first, just incase the result is not satisfactory.

Best non surgical nose job filler is Radiesse which is calcium based- calcium hydroxyapatite.
It contours well in this area and has a duration of 12-18months.  Facial plastic surgeons know this anatomy backwards and forwards ... like the back of their hands and are always working in the facial region and often inside and outside the nose. 
It is advisable to consult with someone who has done a lot of these procedures.

Really depends on the defect, but Voluma would give you 2 years on average. Some injectors would use non HA based fillers, but for the rich blood supply of the nasal area, I always use a HA based filler. Why? Out of safety. All the best, Dr Davin S. Lim. Brisbane. Australia
