My nose has a crease coming up the columella. Is there anything I can do besides rhinoplasty? (Photo)

Based on your up close photos, you appear to have thin nasal skin, along with a bifid nasal tip appearance, and nostril retraction at the soft tissue triangles on both sides. I believe you are seeing this because you were born with thin nasal skin. Depending on your examination, microdroplet Silikon-1000 nasal injections may be considered for filling in this cleft permanently, and also for lowering your nostril margins and decreasing their retraction upwards. You can have fillers like Juviderm or Restylane for filling up the depression. If you like this the results of this procedure you can have this repeated after one and a half year or go for a surgical rhinoplasty. All The Best !

Hi and thanks for your question. This is a question I get relatively often in my clinic. The answer is that filler injection will usually fill the crease and give you a great result. The Non Surgical Nose Job will give you a smooth tip and no one will know that you have had anything done. It will not make your nose look bigger. This is, however, a tricky area to inject, so make sure you see someone with extensive experience in this procedure. Hope that helps.

I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to go over your desired results. Facial fillers (voluma, restylane, juvederm) can be used to improve the symmetry of the nose. However, surgery would be needed to improve nostrils or overall shape. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for your question. Yes, you would be a candidate for filler to this area to soften this crease. You should see a surgeon with significant experience in nasal injections if you plan to treat this area. 

Well, if you want to fix the crease you could use some filler. All of the things that bother you are due to the shape of the lower lateral cartilages. Unfortunately the only way to adequately rearrange your cartilage and address these problems is with a rhinoplasty I would recommend an open rhinoplasty in this particular case.All the best,Talmage Raine MD
