Cartilage was broken 20 yrs ago, resulting in dent. Rhinoplasty is too expensive for me at this time, so would a dermal filler such as Juvederm (or the like) fill in the dent, making my nose more symmetrical looking? I had surgery 6 years ago to fix a deviated septum and the surgeon apparently tried to repair that area, as there is now scar tissue built-up inside my nose in the area where the dent is. The dent was there before the surgery. If this can be filled in, which filler is recommended and how long will it last?
Answer: Permanent non-surgical nose job treatments may be considered for filling a nasal indentation. As long as you are not looking to improve your nasal breathing, from a cosmetic standpoint, microdroplet Silikon-1000 injections may be considered for filling in the indentation along the left lower side wall of your nose, so you may achieve a straighter nasal appearance. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Can Dermal Filler Fill in Nose Dent? Dermal Fillers (Voluma, Juvederm) Can Fill Dents and Create Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty Your photo suggests that you would respond well to a nonsurgical rhinoplasty using a hyaluronic-acid based dermal fillers such as Juvederm or Juvederm Voluma. I’d recommend Voluma because it is more substantial, lasts longer (up to 2 years) and will look very natural. The results of a nonsurgical nose job using dermal fillers can be quite impressive. Be sure to consult a board-certified dermatologist who has experience reshaping the nose with HA fillers.

Answer: Filler in nose Fillers can be gently placed in the nose to fill in the dent. However, given your surgical history it is important to take it slowly as swelling and bruising can distort the initial result.

Answer: Non Surgical Nose Job for Dented Nose Hi, and thanks for your question. From the photo you provide, it seems possible to correct the indentation with fillers, although I would have to see it firsthand to know better. Your case does become more complicated since you have had surgery to the area and, as you say, there is probably scar tissue under the skin. Nevertheless, I have corrected issues like this successfully many times. I would recommend using Voluma. It provides good lift, it lasts for 1.5 to 2 years and it is reversible at any time with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. The most important factor in getting a great outcome for you is to go to someone who is extremely experienced in Non Surgical Rhinoplasty. The surgery you have had means that the blood supply to the skin of your nose is no longer as robust as it used to be. Placing filler there without risk of damage to the skin is tricky and should not be attempted by someone inexperienced in this procedure. Hope that helps

Answer: Non surgical nose job Thanks for your question and photo. Small irregularities and asymmetries in the nose can be improved with fillers and one can either use permanent or temporary fillers. Among the permanent fillers are FDA approved, Bellafill ® or fat transfer (which, of course, comes from your own body). Fillers will rarely improve nasal obstruction or make the nose smaller. For a life long result, a rhinoplasty is still generally the gold standard but many of my patients are delighted with what a filler can do, especially if one's expectations are properly managed.
