There are fillers (hyaluronic acids like Juvederm and Restylane) that can help camouflage those bags, but the actual protrusion is caused by weakening and stretching of the lower eyelid tissues, allowing the normal fat pads to cause that tired look and dark circles. Fluid and swelling can also play a role in the development and worsening of these bags.Surgical treatment of these bags is called blepharoplasty, and involves lifting the skin and muscle, removing a portion of the protruding fat, repositioning the remainder, and then tightening the eyelid skin and muscle for a smoother, refreshed look.Trying to both tighten skin and remove fat via injection is folly, though small amounts of fat can be removed via the inside of the eyelid (still surgery) and the skin tightened via laser resurfacing or chemical peel (this is often called the "incisionless lower eyelid surgery" but what it really is is a subconjuctival fat pad removal and laser skin resurfacing."Dissolving" the fat via mesotherapy or lipodissolve will leave loose skin (deflated bags) plus there is the risk of injecting caustic chemicals around the eyeball (not recommended under any situation, IMHO).You need consultation with one or more AABPS-certified plastic surgeons experienced in blepharoplasty surgery.
