I’m having a BBL done and I wanted to get a keloid removed 3 weeks prior to my BBL. they both require general anesthesia is this dangerous? The keloid is unbearable at this point.
Answer: Frequent general anesthesia There is no risk for a healthy person to have short general anesthesia done twice within one month. Question is whether you need general anesthesia for keloid surgery and whether these two procedures could be done in the same time. Discussion with your surgeon is recommended. Good luck.

Answer: General anesthesia twice in a month. Is this dangerous? I would defer on this to the recommendations of the anesthesiologist of the second procedure (BBL). If you have no health issues from the keloid removal, you should be fine having the surgeries 3 weeks apart.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Answer: 2 general anesthesia procedures within a month Hi and welcome to our forum! The effect of a general anesthetic on the body doesn't last for more than 24-36 hours. The effect of the surgery on the body is of greater concern. If one is not fully recovered from the first surgery, it is unwise to proceed with a second elective cosmetic procedure. Repeat examination and laboratory studies are required to ensure the safety of the procedure. It is wise to perform the lesser of the two procedures first. Of note, we often perform these procedures together in one sitting.Best wishes!

Answer: General anesthesia twice in a month. Is this dangerous? Hi. For me general anesthesia is too dangerous for being use in a Plastic Surgery procedure. All my procedures are performed applying IV sedation and after the patient is asleep giving her epidural anesthesia. Why you need 2 surgeries for things that can be done at once ?International Member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS)Member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS)Member of the International Confederation for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (IPRAS)

Answer: General Anesthesia Great question! I do not see any strict contraindications for general anesthesia twice within one month. Generally a period of 1 to 2 weeks in between general anesthesia is a decent enough time period to restore full circulation in your body and prevent blood clot related issues. As always consult with your anesthesiologist regarding this. Regarding your keloid removal, depending on the size and location, local anesthesia and/or IV sedation may be an option. Please discuss this with your surgeon. Best of luck!
