How do I sit after a BBL and breast augmentation? How do I sit to stay off my butt, but also be comfortable?

Thank you for your question! For my patients having a breast augmentation and BBL in the same procedure, I recommend they lay on their sides, alternating time on each side. I also recommend they stay completely off of their butt for 10 days post surgery, then start using the Booty Buddy pillow for 3 weeks. I recommend consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon. You should wait at least 2 weeks before sitting without a support cushion and sleeping on your back. Sitting with no support too soon can harm the newly moved fat cells.

These questions are best answered by the plastic surgeon who performs you BBL he/she will have his/her own post-op guidelines and will be aware of any complications you experienced during surgery and post-op.I recommend that my patients minimize sitting, even with a pillow (boppy or BBL), for the first two weeks.  If they must sit, every 30 minutes or an hour, they should get up and stand for a few seconds to take the pressure off.   This reduces the chance for fat necrosis. I usually recommend about 6 weeks before sitting without a pillow. After 6 weeks the fat has revascularized, and they will have a very good idea of their final results.  
You do not want to apply pressure to your hips or buttocks.  If you have a sturdy grab bar by the toilet, hold on to it.  If you can squat, purchase a raised toilet seat with rails. Be careful not to fall in using either option.On your drive home, it is critical that every 30 minutes or an hour you stop, get out of your vehicle, and stand for a few seconds to take the pressure off. Use your pillow to take pressure off the buttocks and place it under the thighs.  Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

hello thank you for your question and provided information as well.. based in your question its recommended to sitting in a bobby pillow  first month counting day after surgery  and you have to sleep with bobby pillow and in your back

Thank you for your question.  Every surgeon will have his/her own preferences as to recovery for specific procedures. Postoperatively, no specific position is indicated and we do not have any sitting restrictions.  The pressure caused by sitting is not sufficient to affect viability of the fat cells and so the postsurgical position depends basically on comfort and any other operations that have been performed. 

Thank you for your question. Personally, I would always recommend my
patients split the surgeries, mainly because off the recovery. The reason being as with a butt
augmentation, you will not be able to sit on your buttocks for several
weeks and cannot sleep on your back. With a breast augmentation you will
not want to sleep on your sides or stomach, so pairing the two
surgeries would make recovery difficult and uncomfortable. In terms of sitting after a BBL, every surgeon has a different recovery protocol so it is best to talk with your plastic surgeon about what he/she recommends for you. With that said, I advise my patients not to sit on their rear ends at all for the first week. After then they may sit for short periods of time with a pillow under your legs above the knee for 8 weeks, it doesn't have to be a special BBL pillow if you don't want to draw attention to it. I would not recommend sitting normally without a pillow for 8 weeks.I recommend

Dear liliiii,I instruct my patients not to sit for 2 solid weeks. We provide them a specialized pillow that our patients can sit on during that time. They can sleep on their stomachs or sides. Fat viability depends a lot of surgeon technique. The fat has to be placed back into the buttocks as soon as possible so that it has a greater chance of survival. It has to be placed carefully so that not too much fat is placed in only one area.Daniel Barrett, MD

You can sit how you normally sit, if you want you can sit on a boppy pillow. When sleeping, you can sleep on your back if it makes you feel more comfortable, but the work the doctor did on you won't be affected by sleeping on your back.

I do not recommend my patients to sit for the first two weeks after surgery. Afterwards, a special BBL pillow (we provide our patients with the pillow) can be used for sitting for short duration. You can lay down on your sides during recovery.
