I see many HIV individuals and if they are in good physical condition, as I would assume and assure them to be if they are seeking purely elective surgery, then I find they are as good candidates for lipo as any other. I tell my patients that I am HIV negative and I intend to stay that way but I treat all of my patients as if they might be HIV positive and certainly the ones who are positive I am very careful. My technique does not change, the way I assess HIV positive patients does not change, the excellent results I anticipate are just as realistic, the cost is no different, and certainly the high level of care to each of my patients is the same.
