My BA surgery is scheduled for 09/18. 425/475cc Silicone HP. I have been REALLY anxious because I have never had a surgery before. I also take Paxil 20mg and the anesthesiologist team said it's okay to keep taking but not the morning of the surgery. I would like to take Clonazepam in order to calm down and concentrate at work before I leave for vacation (1 week). Thank You

Answer: Medications prior to surgery Check with the same anesthesiologist team who will be providing services and also with your surgeon. Medications taken preoperatively can affect your anesthesia and should always be reviewed by those providing services for you.Best of luck,

Answer: Clonazepam prior to surgery In my opinion it is reasonable to take your anxiety medication. I would always check with the anesthesiologist and your surgeon to make them aware and to have then render their opinions

Answer: Breast Augmentation : Preoperative medication This is most likely fine. I give all my patients anti-anxiety medications to be used before and after surgery. I like Valium more, because it is also an anti-spasmodic that can help with any muscle pains or spasms after surgery. Breast surgery usually involves the Pectoralis muscle. Long term use of Valium is not recommended, but it is great in the period around surgery.Check with your doctor first, the answer is most likely yes.Educational writings on breast augmentation might help you.Good Luck!Dr Chris Saunders
