Atsize 34 each 100 cc’s of implant corresponds to 1 cup size change.400 cc implants would take you up 4 cup sizesto a size G.It is unlikely that 410 ccimplants will fit retro-pectoral, will extrude inferiorly and laterallyrequiring revision.I always recommendsmall round textured silicone gel implants placed retro-pectoral since theylook and feel more natural, are more stable, less likely to ripple or havecomplications needing revision.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
Because each person is a little different it is impossible to give you a correct cup size. Best thing is to go to your plastic surgeon's office and have them measure you with implant sizers in.
This is always a tricky question to answer, because bra sizes are not well standardized. You'll probably be about 2 - 2.5 cup sizes larger with a 410 cc implant, but that's just an approximation.Best to see your local plastic surgeon. Sometimes trying on an implant, or using Mentor's volume sizing system can be quite helpful to see if you like the new size. Computer imaging can help a little, as well. All the best,
There are several factors that plastic surgeons consider when recommending implant sizes. I consider two factors when selecting implants for my patients:1. Dimensional planning2. Gel Implant Sizing systemDimensional planning – The measurements of your chest wall are taken. Also, the breast dimensions including the height, width, and current dimensions of each breast form the basis of dimensional planning. Based on these measurements, the implant size is recommended. This will give you a unique breast implant that is suited for your body frame. However, there are some limitations of what size we can recommend. For instance, some implants may just be too big for a narrow chest wall. Your surgeon can review this with you during the consultation.Gel Implant Sizing system – During the preliminary breast implant consultation, you will be provided with an option to “try on” a variety of implant shapes and sizes. You can also visualize the possible outcomes of your surgery which helps you to get that perfect size to give you the shape that you longed for. This way your preferences are known and you can then pick a range of implants that will “fit” just right to give a soft natural fuller look. Hope this helps.Dr. BasuHouston, TX
Thanks for writing,As the others have written cup sizes change with each manufacturer. I also believe that cup size changes with chest wall size. This is well documented in textbooks. A 32 chest wall requires less volume per cup than say a 44 chest wall. The other thing I believe you need to consider is the base width of your breast and its relationship to the base width of the implant. One of the last thing most people want is the implant base so wide that's its on the side of their chest wall or pushing up into your arm pit.You need to consider the significant weight associated with that implant. You will essentially add 1 pound of extra weight to each side of your chest. You have to consider the pull on your back, neck, shoulders, and then exercise may be negatively impacted, if you run or jog. Finally there is the issue of "Bottoming Out" due to weight, size and implant placement. All these things can require multiple surgeries in the future to correct. So I would say, not only thing about now, but think 5 and 10 and 15 years down the road. I hope this helpsStephen M. Thanks for your question. Its important to understand a few things before choosing the size for you. First, there isnt a number of ml or a cup size that is correct, because what you're going for is a certain look on your body. This is influenced by your height, frame width, amount of current breast tissue, and your desired result. Cup sizes differ between manufacturers and how people wear them, using this as a guide will lead to disappointing communications between you and the surgeon. After your consult and examination you will have a range of implants that will safely fit within your anatomy. The best way to estimate the size is then to try on several different sizes until you find the one that most approximates the look you're trying to achieve. Whatever cup size and ml this turns out to be will be the correct one. Hope that helps.
SInce there are no fixed standards of cup size, don't expect too accurate an answer. Many surgeons estimate a cup size increase for every 150-250 cc of implant volume. For a smaller band (32,34) 150 may be the better estimate. All the best.
Hi TLC,Thanks for the question. A rule of thumb is that every 200cc or so is another cup size. I'd estimate that you'd be in the DD range with a 410cc device. Try to find someone in your area that carries the Vectra XT system, since this can effectively simulate what you would look like with a variety of implants, in clothes or without. (I have no financial disclosures for this, but worked with the surgeon who designed the software). Patients have found this very helpful in deciding upon an implant size...Best wishes,--Erik Hoy, M.D.
Thank you for the question. There is no accurate/reliable/predictable correlation between size/profile breast implant utilized and cup size achieved. Despite your good description of goals, online consultants will not be able to provide you with specific enough advice to be truly helpful. Ultimately, careful communication of your goals (in my practice I prefer the use of goal pictures, direct examination/communication in front of a full-length mirror, and computer imaging) will be critical.Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery ( regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is:1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work.2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "C or D cup” etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. Again, the use of computer imaging has been very helpful during the communication process, in our practice.3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery, after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers.I hope this (and the attached link, dedicated to breast augmentation surgery concerns) helps.
Thank you for your question. It is difficult if not impossible to accurately predict cup size based on the size of implant. However a very general inaccurate rule is that 200 cc of breast implant can increase you by 1 cup size. If this rule holds true for you U well could be a double D after your augmentation.
