My breathing throughout the day and night isn't so good, can I still have my surgery? (Photo)

If you have breathing issues prior to surgery, such as sleep apnea, the only ones who can you for surgery are your medical doctor, anesthesiologist, and plastic surgeon.  Speak with your plastic surgeon first about your concerns and he or she can direct you from there.Best of luck!

It's a very good question and you are right to be concerned. I would address these concerns with your plastic surgeon and your primary care physician. They will need to determine the cause of the breathing issues prior to proceeding with any surgery.

Cosmetic plastic surgery is elective. It can be postponed until your health is optimized. Priority should be on optimizing your health before focusing on altering your appearance with surgery. You should have your health/breathing issue evaluated by your physician. 

If you have breathing issues, this should be clarified so that one can make sure that you do not have sleep apnea.

I recommend you contact your plastic surgeon as soon as possible to let him or her know about your breathing problems.
All underlying medical conditions should be assessed before any elective surgery.
If you had an in person consultation this should've been brought up at that time.
I suggest you call or email your doctor if they're out of town or meet with him or her in person if their local.
If you have a primary care physician you should follow up with him or her as well.
Your primary care doctor can help determine why you are having breathing Rubens and help treat them.
