This is all dependent upon what the physician defines as an area and is different for each person. I do abdomen/stomach as one, flanks as another, waist as another, lower back as one... even though there is a left and a right of each (upper and lower for abdomen) and could be defined as more areas. Best, Dr. Emer.
Ask your surgeon about this so that this is clarified. That may be 3 areas for one surgeon and 10 for another surgeon.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
When I hear things like " ten areas" it frequently makes one think of those endless tv infomercials promising so much for so little. To me what is most important about a liposculpture consultation is that you first select an appropriately trained board certified plastic surgeon who best knows the anatomy and has mastered the techniques needed to attain the best possible results.During your consultation a detailed discussion of what areas you wish to address should take place in order to customize a surgical plan based on what your individual goals are. When discussing the abdomen, love handles, and back, I view the entire area as a unit. What we do to one area effects what we do to a nearby area. Proper contouring Is achieved when the body is addressed in this fashion rather than as independent little boxes.I think the advertisement is more marketing oriented so as to explain how great a deal you are supposedly receiving.if in doubt another opinion is never a bad idea.Best of luck with meeting your cosmetic surgery goals,
It depends on how the surgeon divides areas up. Sounds like he/she counted this way: 4 areas abdomen, each hip as 2, each back as 2, waist as 2 =s "10". I use the 2 areas for abdomen (upper and lower) than the rest are acceptable. But remember we can ONLY remove 4 liters of fat in office operating room...
That's a very good question. The way areas are defined differs between practitioners. The best way is to have face to face meeting with your board certified plastic surgeon and ask her or him to show you what areas they plan to include. I hope that helps. Good luck
Hi there,From your photos you don't look like you need much done. The stubborn areas are the perfect spots for liposuction. Only thing I can't really tell on a photo is the amount of skin laxity you have. It looks good but 70 pounds is a heck of a lot of weight! That can sometimes affect...
Itching after surgery represents healing nerves. As nerves heal after surgery, they fire randomly and can that can be felt s itching, pins and needles, electric shocks etc.
Pictures or an exam would be helpful, but I have had good success with fat grafting to previously liposuctioned areas.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
Lumps can occur following liposuction. This is due to scar tissue and swelling. The treatment is massage, heat, and ultrasound. Over time( 6 months), these lumps dissipate. Sometimes these lumps are fluid collections and they need to be aspirated. Please see your surgeon to determine what is the...
I perform a lot of liposuction procedures and some very large cases including buttock, breast, and facial augmentation with fat transfer and have never used drains. With local tumescent procedures and open entrance sites, drains are not needed. There are no studies that show they...
Mini liposuction works great in this area. Off label however you can try noninvasive treatments like Ultrashape, which have done excellent for my patients. Best, Dr. Emer.
