4 weeks post BBL. Will I lose more volume?

Question

I am 4 weeks post a bbl. I have lost a lot of volume already and am really disappointed in my results. I am worried because my butt is already small and It's only been 4 weeks. Am I at risk for losing MORE volume? Post op my stomach was flat but now(4weeks later) it's puffy and hard. Why? What Can/should I do to prevent any more fat cells from dying?

In most cases there is still some swelling that is evident in the buttock region following Brazilian buttock lift that has not completely resolved. One would expect the buttocks to get a bit smaller. Whether this is a noticeable amount is hard to answer. Usually one should wait 6 to 8 weeks before having a reasonable idea of the amount of fat that will be permanently enhancing the buttock region.

Greetings. It is still early in the postoperative period.  There can be some loss of fat over time.  In general, your result seems positive.  Be patient as this is not the final result yet. Best wishes.

It looks like you have a pretty good change from your preop photos. Usually by about 6 weeks what you see is pretty much what you get.

Your results are unfortunately all-to-common.  The transferred fat does not all survive, and that which does behaves as if it were still in its original location.  This means that if you lose weight in an area where the fat came from your butt will shrink.The results of fat transfer for BBL are usually unimpressive and this procedure must be approached with realistic (and modest) expectations since we have not yet unlocked the secret of this overly popular procedure.
