Can I sit normally for 2 hours in a car (or 1 hour dinner) without a pillow 19 days after BBL?

I always tell my patients that the first thirty days after their procedure are extremely important for the ultimate results. I highly recommend to all patients not to put any pressure on their buttocks for the first 30 days post surgery.

Each doctor has their own protocol. It is very important that you talk to him about your concerns and goals. I recommend my patients not to sit for more than 30 mins. every two hours, for the first 2 weeks, and always with the help of a boppy pillow. If you have any concerns, I suggest you follow up close with your plastic surgeon.

Yes, I believe you have earned your stripes by not sitting on your butt for 19 days. Thats a long time. Go out for that dinner without the pillow and consciously shift your weight every half an hour. It should not hamper the overall outcome in any way.

No studies have documented the need to sit on a pillow after BBL will improve graft take. Remember that your body tells you to shift your weight subconsciously; before you would hurt your fat cells, you would develop soars on your skin. Now, the first 72 to 96 hours while the fat cells have not revascularized, you may want to avoid sitting, but after that, the fat cells should be stable.
