Do areolas get smaller or bigger after breast lift? (Photo)

Question

Hi doctors thank you for your time, I changed my 300 over muscle to 240 under muscle along with a breast lift, I never had big areolas but now they seem huge, do they go back to their previous size or actually get bigger as breast settles ?

With smaller implants and no lift your areolar size should remain the same or perhaps be a bit smaller, with larger implants they tend to stretch a bit.If a periareolar lift is done, there is a tendency for your areaola to become larger. Witht he lollipop technique they tend to stay about the same size for most.

It is possible to adjust areola size with a breast lift, but once the surgery is completed,  the areola will not get smaller during the healing process. They look a bit stretched and this may settle down with time as you heal. I wouldn't rush to have anything done at this point. You probably want to give it 3-4 months minimum to heal.  Best to always discuss with your surgeon.

I think that you will find that your areola will remain the size that they currently are ( or become slightly larger  as the healing process continues); unfortunately, they will not go back to their previous size. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be pleased with long-term.
